Booked a Junior Suite for 3 nights, incl breakfast.||||We arrived by train and were given directions to catch a tram to Ferrovia and then walk the 5 minutes. We decided to walk the whole way from the station. Initially downhill and then once reaching the tram interchange its a uphill walk those 5 minutes. Not terribly difficult.||Hotel Praha is located on the main square to the side of the town hall, so in a very central location. Its decor is Art Nouveau and the public areas are lovely.||A pleasant check in, we were allocated Room 410. There are 2 lifts; 1 looks like an original with a cage type surrounded by the old staircase. The other is more modern. Both work very well.||Our room is a corner room. It had a short hallway, was spacious with a seating area of 2 easy chairs, a tv and our beds. Plenty of hanging space. Wifi is free and fast. The windows-there are 4 of them- are openable and double glazed with great views overlooking the impressive buildings and also the square.||The bathroom was a good size and has a bath with shower over it and a drying rack-always useful when travelling.||||Breakfast is held in the lovely spacious period dining room on the 1st floor. The tables have cloths on them and the serviettes are a heavy type fabric. Its carpetted so its not noisy, which is nice in the morning and there was also piano music playing too. The room gets the sun in the morning and overlooks the square. There is enough choice for people but nothing to really rave about. There is some hot food sitting in warmers-scrambled eggs and sausages, but mostly cold choices. We ate breakfast there 3 mornings and it seems there is more choice earlier than later. Staff nice enough. Its the room I am particularly impressed with and the old lift of course||||Consider that Hotel Praha is good value having regard to the location and the size of the room in a...
Read moreHuman feces in the shower head.
I gave it one star, however, I actually want to rate it zero stars. My boyfriend and I were staying at the hotel for two nights. The hotel room was old, which was fine. However, during our second night, we found human feces stuck to the shower head. Keep in mind that we already took a shower the previous day. We were in shock and did not believe our own eyes. It looked like feces and it definitely smelled like feces. We went downstairs to the receptionist, who was very nice and tried to be helpful. She offered us breakfast for compensation, however, we did not feel like it was the right compensation after we have been showering with feces for two days straight. We decided to wait till the next day to speak to the manager about the unfortunate event, as the receptionist recommended. The manager did not show the slightest of sympathy nor response. He only asked which room we were stayed in and said 'I'm sorry', and nothing else. It also seemed to humour him, as he was holding back his smile/laugh. I cannot stress you how frustrated I was, as it was not taken seriously. We have showered in a complete strangers feces, and we left feeling humiliated after our stay.
We did not know what kind of compensation we were was aiming for, but we were definitely expecting a sincere apology and more sympathy.
Due to this unfortunate event, I cannot and will not recommend this...
Read moreWe had a family trip to Liberec and this hotel allowed us to stay in the very centre of the town. Our double room 304 was very convenient with pretty authentic bathroom - all perfectly working and suitable. The room was cosy and neat. The receptionists were kind, helpful and always ready to give advice. We didn't use the hotel parking, since we stayed in Liberec on Sunday and a bank holiday Monday, so that the town parking lots were free of charge (unlikely the hotel parking for 200,-/night). And the breakfast was really great. The lady who took care of the breakfast service was amazing, very kind to our child, very helpful with my celiak diet.. And the dining room with its terrace is just fabulous! The price for breakfast is quite ok considering the buffet style and the range of choice. Kids get the breakfast for free. :) We are definitely going to recommend this hotel to our friends and we are going to...
