LIFESTYLE HOTEL — Hotel in Prague

Used this as a stop off hotel for a job to Prague . First impressions , seemed a decent hotel , good price in an unremarkable area, about 20 minutes drive from centre. Then got there , at check in had to hand over 50 euros as a minibar deposit - nothing mentioned about that on booking.com. The bar and restaurant was shut however the guy on reception said there was a karaoke bar and casino in the basement. Went down there and was told by a very unfriendly couple that there was no bar bar available to me , despite people coming and going out of "private karaoke" rooms . Got a couple of beers to take to room instead although got short changed in czech coins as no change in euros . Then , despite being on the top floor , could not sleep due to music from the basement , which goes on till past 2 a.m on a Sunday night . Absolutely no sound proofing so can hear everything , OK if you like Oriental pop music I suppose . Can't recommend this hotel at all, I am a very heavy sleeper but ended up sleeping in my van in minus 2 weather (still an improvement). Unfortunately prepaid the room so no chance of a refund, although hopefully booking.com can sort it . I booked this hotel last year in June. Reason being i just arrived from a long trip and the hotel offered a bar and a casino (so it says on the website). Arriving the receptionist didn say welcome nor inquired about travel just demanded a deposit in cash and for the rest did not explain a thing about the surrounding area (4 stars a bit of an explanation/service can be expected) also asked about the bar and casino. However this apparantly is a members only casino and hotel bar. So all in all nothing to do. I tried to get in and some people seemed to be laughing at the gesture.|My first night i tried the hotel restaurant. Waiter stank of cigarettes and didnt speak english and only seemed eager to close at 22:00 the closing time. As the table next to me was not allowed to order dessert anymore and i was brought my starter and main at the same time. Odd place indeed. Basically a 4 star hotel but number of stars doesn't really correlate with the experience. We had a family room with double doors so we didn't suffer from the karaoke bar noise.||All in all clean basic room and basic breakfast in not so attractive area with some parking space in case you need one. Be prepared to pay 50€ deposit for mini bar and guarantee for not smoking in the room - you get it back when you check out and they have checked the room.||Staff is friendly yet all of them don't speak English - we managed by mixing some Germany in. ||At the time we were the only European guests and rest of the people were Asian. Cannot say if they were Vietnamese yet they seemed to have good time together. And dinner menu is only Vietnamese food.||Will not come to this hotel again but good place to stay if you want to get a bit different experience...
