My friend and I arrived at the hotel to store our luggage until check-in, as we arrived around noon. The man who was behind the reception was immediately quite rude to us. We mentioned we would be checking in and he pointed to a sign that said Check-in is at 3 pm. Which we were aware of and were just going to ask for a luggage hold. Upon returning to the hotel to check-in, there was no one there for over 15 minutes. The receptionist finally came back and told us the elevator was broken and not to take it or else we would possibly be trapped. When we got into our room, it looked nothing like the photos, and my friend and I booked Hotel Amager based on the photos and how the rooms looked. We immediately noticed the very yellow mattresses and pillows on the beds. The floor was extremely wet with puddles everywhere from them recently mopping it. My friend went down to the reception to ask for a towel for the floor, as there were only 2 towels in the hotel room. The rude receptionist replied, "An additional towel is going to cost you!" He then told my friend, that if we didn't like it he would give us a full refund and we could go elsewhere. We never asked for a refund, we only asked for a towel for the very wet floors. My friend came back and we discussed taking his offer for a refund, as he was very rude and we didn't want to deal with him for the rest of our trip and the rooms were not like the photos. We were only in the room for 10-15 minutes and never touched anything because of the wet floors. The receptionist gave us a receipt for a full refund and a written letter and told us to contact Expedia for the refund. He then lied and told Expedia we stayed for part of the day. So we were only issued a partial refund. The hotel seemed more like a hostel, than an actual hotel. In addition to our horrible experience, we noticed the hostel is attached to a pub, not a restaurant. The location is the...
Read moreWe arrived early and inquired about early check in and the hotel receptionist, the main gentleman at the front, waved his finger and said "no check in until 3 pm". We said that is fine and asked to leave our suitcases until then. Upon return at 3 pm, there was no one available for 15-20 minutes to check us in. As my friend and I waited, we were gawked at by male patrons in the connecting pub/bar.||After we checked in, we were advised not to take the lift as it often gets stuck and you can become trapped for up to half an hour. Our room itself...the floow was sopping wet from recently being mopped and the mattresses were stained yellow. I went to reception to ask for towels to sop up the water so we could walk in our room and was told the towels would be an extra charge. I explained why we needed the towels and the reception said "if we don't like it here we can get a refund and stay elsewhere". ||After our rude interactions with the reception/gentleman at the front, poor room amenities, questionable bar/pub, we decided to check out. We were there a total of 15-20 minutes and did not touch or use anything in our room. We verified multiple times that we would get a FULL refund for the 3 days and would not be charged any penalties or fees, hotel agreed and issued a receipt in Danish.||Expedia contacted the hotel for a refund and the hotel granted a 2 night refund and said we stayed in the hotel for 3 hours. The gentleman/reception/manager at the front lied to our faces and told Expedia a different story.||Again, if you're looking for a hostel, this will meet your expectations, however, if you're looking for a hotel I would strongly advise going elsewhere. We checked into the Imperial Hotel for only $200 more the full 3 night stay and it was Exceptional in...
Read moreWe booked a room via booking.com in one year advance. The day before arrival a notification came that my card was rejected and advance payment did not work. I updated my credit card info twice and it was still rejected. I used this card succesfully several times before in hotels and payment was always flawless. Balance, payment limits were perfectly set, and my bank does not know any attemts of money withdrawal. So, after the second rejection a notification came, that my reservation was cancelled while we were on our way to Denmark. Immediatel after this notification, while traveling, we wrote emails to the reception, tried to call them (phone number did not work) and wrote them on messenger. No answer came. On arrival I have met at least five other angry and disaappointed travellers who ran into very similar problems we did. The receptionist first told me that our room was already given to someone else and there are no free rooms left. Then he "suddenly" found a free room, but for double the price which could only be paid in cash. We paid for it (miraculously my card worked for taking the cash from the ATM). Took the room but were kicked out from there some two hours later. First they told us that we get another room, but they just gave me back the money and kicked us out to the street. We were lucky enough to find another hotel that night, but I will never return to this place and I don't recommend you to...
