Reception: ||Was met by a fairly unfriendly reception staff member. I enquired about any possible upgrades as part of the Radisson Premium benefits. She told me that she had already upgraded my room to a premium room. I replied that I was already paying for a premium room, as per my booking. She then in a fairly condescending tone asked me to check what I booked. I checked and confirmed that I had booked a premium room in the first place. ||At this point she changed her narrative regarding a possible upgrade and said it was the hotel’s policy not to upgrade Radisson Premium members further than a premium room and that only “VIP” members were eligible for this. I said that as per my reading of the membership benefits (screenshot attached), room upgrades even to suites are possible for Radisson Premium members, although they weren’t guaranteed. ||She then left to speak to her manager. She came back a couple of minutes later and dismissively said that no other better category of rooms was available for my stay, so I would not be getting any upgrades.||To summarise, within the span of 5 minutes I had been told :|a) I had already been upgraded|b) I was not eligible for an upgrade|c) I was eligible but there were no rooms available for upgrade||All these cannot simultaneously be true. Furthermore, a quick check on Radisson’s app did show that at least for part of my stay, there were higher room categories were available. I do not have any issues with not receiving an upgrade if it is not feasible, as per the terms and conditions, but there does appear to be some dishonesty on the part of the staff I dealt with and the matter could definitely have been managed a lot better. ||Room:||The room looks modern but has numerous issues that quickly become apparent. ||THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONER - It was quite cold in the room on the first night. I tried to adjust the thermostat in the room but it did not have any effect on the temperature. The next morning I checked with reception if this could be rectified. They advised me that none of the rooms actually has any form of temperature control. Why do they even have a thermostat control in that case!? Only after pressing further for a solution, was I offered a small heater, which I accepted. This was delivered promptly. It is shocking that at this premium price point, you are expected to just accept the ambient temperature of the room.||Internet connectivity is intermittent - frequent disconnections and even when it does connect, the speeds are very slow. Often had trouble even loading largely text based websites. I ended up just using my cellphone’s connection to create my own hotspot as this was much faster. ||Housekeeping - My robe was taken away on the first day and never replaced. Cleaning was otherwise adequate.||Others - No water bottles - I am aware that tap water in Copenhagen is drinkable, but it is still useful to have a bottle of water to bring out on day tours etc. Other hotels that did not provide water bottles at least had an easily available option to purchase them in the lobby but I didn’t see any at this hotel.||Washroom: ||Generally clean with small areas of mould - nothing terrible in terms of cleanliness. ||Water pressure in the shower was VERY low. ||The toilet is poorly designed with a ledge directly behind it, preventing the toilet seat from being lifted because it cannot reach a fully open position. Every time it’s lifted, it slowly drifts back down. Quite a strange design flaw.||The towels I received all had a slightly sourish smell - I guess this is due to the detergent or laundry process but I haven’t experienced this before at any other hotel.||Breakfast: ||Breakfast at this hotel is the most crowded hotel breakfast I have seen. It felt more crowded than Tivoli Gardens. There is frequently a long queue to even enter the restaurant. On the first day, one coffee machine was not working and the other one required frequent banging on its sides by a staff member to keep it working. This led to a long queue just to get a drink. Thankfully, this was rectified by the following day.||Also, confusingly, tables were set up with some diners having spoons and others not. I observed this inconsistency at multiple tables and could not figure out the reason for it. Did they run out of spoons ? ||The food is fine. A pretty standard variety of food items was available. The scrambled eggs were good. Cold drinks selection was also very good with multiple juices available. ||Overall: ||This hotel has the veneers of a modern hotel but is severely lacking in terms of customer service and basics like heating and internet connectivity. The breakfast is acceptable but very crowded. I would not recommend this hotel to travellers. ||Consider looking at my other reviews to see my opinion on another hotel chain that I stayed at when I was in Copenhagen, where I was treated significantly better and had a wonderful stay despite not being part of any affiliated loyalty...

Read moreThis was my first experience with Radisson, and to be honest also my last. Every hotel has some issues, but this hotel was my worse experience, and I am not comparing this to any local hotels, but my experience with other hotel chains (Intercontinental Group, Marriott et cetera).
The feedback should be read with also the reference to pictures I have uploaded from the room, which was also shared with the hotel staff, after which our room was changed (after my 3rd complaint in a 4 night stay).
Listing down the issues which you will never expect from a 4 star hotel:
Rooms were quite small compared to IHG hotels, from a 3/4 star rated hotel perspective. First night we checked in, the washroom had blonde hair (not just one) in the bath, which means the room was not cleaned properly before we checked in. This was raised to staff members next morning. Refer pics. Second night when we returned to hotel, there was a sock lying next to our bed, which was again raised to staff member and a request was made to change the room (which was rejected, stating we will get the room cleaned again), as it gives an impression they don't do a deep clean even in Covid times, even after raising a concern about cleaning on day 1 of check in. Refer pics. Third night when we returned to hotel, our room door was open, which was again raised to hotel staff from security reason, and photos was also shared from last 2 nights, this was our 3rd complaint, post which finally our room was changed. Thanks to Nicklas, who was the only staff who actually listened to our complaints and accepted that this is not as per the expectation. In general, the washroom showed general wear and tear, but I have never experienced in other hotels that it is evidently visible, from water marks, dirty floor with soap marks, dirty floor mats, broken/chipped doors et cetera. Refer pics. The bed was comfortable but the room is not very sound friendly, as we were able to hear our people from neighbouring rooms, and also footsteps from above floor. The window in the second room, after the change was in bad shape, and we were unable to open it for some fresh air. Horrible Internet which keeps dropping every few hours, in both rooms which were allocated, although we were just infront of the lift, where the router was located as per the staff member. Refer pics. The staffs (except for Nicklas) could have been more friendly, humble and supportive, in terms of listening to complaints of customer.
In summary not worth the price we paid for the hotel, and never going back...
