Rent a Room Copenhagen — Hotel in Copenhagen Municipality

POSITIVE:||The location was great as it was a very short walk into the city centre||||WiFi was good.||||Good T.V in the room with a good range of channels.||||Free tea and coffee||||NEGATIVE:||The guesthouse was wrongly advertised as a B&B - breakfast was not included. Luckily we had enough money to go out for breakfast every day but other people might not be in the same boat.||||The place was not regularly cleaned. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower in particular looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in about 20 years. By day 4 the corridor outside the bathroom was reeking of urine. The smell in the corridor disappeared by day 5 but entering the bathroom after that was never a good experience for the nose.||||The staff were really nice but never around. Other than when we checked in I only saw a staff member once at the desk the whole week I was there, then happened to bump into a staff member as we were checking out luckily but almost missed her. Not good if we had needed anything!||||The bed was not comfortable and the pillows on the bed were as useful as resting your head on 1 singular feather. Also the double bed didn't have a double duvet but 2 singles - great for...

Has to be the worst ever travel experience anywhere in the world. Ended up booking this as few reasonable hotel options were available on short notice. However apparent value for money turned out to be a robbery, and I quickly realized this was a big mistake. Online pictures lie, although the single room was very small and simple (basically a bed and a chair, not even a bedside lamp), neither the nor the shared bathroom were inviting. Bathroom apparently doubled as laundry, with several washing machines and dryers. Lightswitches both in the room and bathroom were broken, exposing electrics, and there are no marked fireescapes, although rooms are on the 4th floor. Room smelled of sweat, which seemed to come from the mattress. I slept poorly 4 hours on top of the bed, as I did not want to come near the worn out (holed) although seemingly clean bedsheet. When we first arrived in Copenhagen i was following instructions on how to reach the hotel, however when you follow google maps it takes you to the wrong place (on the same road ... a few doors down). Basically on the door says the same thing 'Rent a Room' however it was a girls house, and she wasnt much help in telling us we needed to go a few doors further. However after all the confusion I checked the address on our booking and we were a few doors down! Once we got there all was good, the gentleman who showed us our room was very polite and we were very happy with our room. There is a small shared kitchen and laundry units all rooms can use however there are only 2 bathrooms between about 6-8 rooms. This caused some problems especially in the mornings as we had to wait before we could use them. Other than that we were very happy with our stay and would definately stay here again. ||||Loved the christmas decorations too .... perfect for a cold snowy...
