This place is just alright✅️. Clean rooms, ac works, the pool bar is nice, there are 2 pools with nice pretty plants and trees around to remind you that youre in the carribean. Granted I didn't get one of the upper tier quality rooms for the price it was not even worth it compared to other hotels in the area, 10 and 20 years ago I bet this was THE HOTEL to be at but not anymore. Nice pool area, sort of outdated. And what is it with a few hotels closing pools at 8pm in the area? In america hotels definitely don't do that in tourist areas. Should leave it open if not 24 hours till 11 or midnight on weekends there is security, so just post notices about keeping the noise down after a certsin time. Jacuzzi wasn't heated and when asked the guy working at bar he said there was no way to heat it, reasonable bar menu, they are loosing money by not having some sort of little kitchen serving some basics for such a medium sized property, atleast on weekends. There was an empty beer bottle between two recliners on pool deck no staff noticed to discard for two days I watched it, despite the front desk hostesess bith of them walking a few gust back theu didnt notice let alone asking the cleaning staff to glance at the pool area for discarded items or god forbid the bartenders check the pool area lol, i mean the bar is at the pool, but no one noticed the bottle for 2 days, details matter. 🚫🚫 MOSQUITOES!!🚫🚫 man. They are bad becuase of near by river, right in your individual patios they hid from sun and rain, the property really needs to invest in mosquito control property-wide, it makes the patios un usable. The value/cost ratio is why I won't return as well as the mosquitos. Why have a balcony you can't use? and that is where the only table avaliable to the room was there was nowhere to eat inside of the room, also my hot water did not get hot after almost 10 minutes of running the water waiting all the way turned towards red sign it never got hot, not even Luke-warm, just reached "not ice cold" , there is good security, friendly staff, location is pretty good l, not great but is directly across from beach def not far, it's pretty good and surrounded by resturaunts, but I can honestly say I won't return: for the ❌️ lack of hot water I experienced that they claim was a fluke,❌️ the mosquitos, and the ❌️price for what quality of room you get compared to other hotels and prices, the hotel is getting outdated, there is a whole South Eastern wing that seems dirty mildew on paint and almost abandoned. I...
Read moreBeware. I booked this place through a realtor in the area. I stayed in a condo there. First off they charge you for electric which is fine. However they don't tell you that you are splitting a meter with the place next door. So you can be cautious on your electrical use but pay half the usage of your neighbor who keeps their air conditioning running 24/7.
They also charge you more per watt than the electric company charges them. A lot more. When I asked why the price for electric was so high they stated they have a generator on the property so they overcharge everyone to pay for it. They do not tell you this when you book. They tell you this after you get your bill. I also parked my scooter there while I stayed. I had two things stolen from it while it was parked. There are security cameras in the parking lot. However where my scooter was parked was out of the cameras view. Who would know that? Maybe staff? The unit I rented was obviously vacant for a long time. When I turned on the shower I literally gagged. There was stagnant water in the pipes. I had to run the shower for 20 minutes and pour bleach down the drain to get rid of the smell. I have stayed in 5 different complexes in Cabarete. This...
Read moreREAD the stack of papers given to you on arrival. I booked a double room since I only get to the area every four years. I knew I was going to try to see as many friends in the area as possible. I stayed 1 month. One friend came from Santiago and I register him for 5 days. Another friend only had Sundays free and came for the day. When he returned the next week and we had a late dinner, at 9 pm security pounded on my door and said he has to be off the property by 10 pm. That’s one of those rules in the fine print as well as a daily $10 charge for visitors. I explained, that it’s late and that he was planning to leave at 5 am for the bus back to Santiago. I booked a double so I decided that I would register him for the night. This isn’t allowed because I can only register one person. That’s in fine print but no one could find it. The only option is to pay an additional fee of $100.00 usd. It felt like a scam but they highlighted that section in the rules. They wanted the money immediately which I didn’t have and they finally accepted $50.00 if I paid it at 5 am in the morning before the staff changed. The guard was just rude. I was humiliated and I will never...
