We had the time of our lives with Iguana Mama. You have choices but let me start here before you get bored of reading. Attention to the guests is exceptional. Everything from the hospitality to the safety. It is very obvious when you book this tour they are well respected by the others there and they have the experience and knowledge to keep you safe while offering a second to none experience. We found out when we were on our experience the cruise line offers the same excursion but they do not allow the guests to jump in the waterfalls. If I had not booked this company on my own I would have been hot that we were denied the experience. There are risks with everything and let me tell you this is a safe experience. I highly encourage you to get the photo package. We have wonderful photos and videos of our entire experience. Iguana Mama does not sell those with their tour but it is approximately 50 + tip. We got about 100 photos/videos combined and the USB drive. The food was good and Iguana Mama took care of making sure all of us were taken care of and served well during lunch. The vehicle to the falls was clean, new and nice. The driver was safe and did not drive crazy all over. This was something I never thought I would do, but we had the best time. It was the experience of a lifetime for us. I will tell you it is a bit of a hike to the bus to go. You get off the cruise ship, walk through the shopping area, out of the port, left down the road a piece and they will find you. You will return to the same spot after the tour. I will give you some advice. Make sure you do not engage in conversations with the taxi drivers or wander off into the parking lot with them when you return. The walk back is not long as it is the same walk you took out. The taxi drivers will try to hustle you the entire time they start seeing you outside of the port. I booked the ATV excursion for my husband and I for our anniversary cruise this month! I can not speak more highly and confidently about how much we loved the overall experience. I booked this excursion outside of the cruise ship, so I was a little nervous about getting to the excursion outside of the cruise port. We were provided detailed instruction on how to get to the meeting point to meet our guide, where we met Carlos!! We loved Carlos, he was the best guide, so nice, respectful, and professional! We got to the ATVs, were given brief instructions and off we went through the Dominican countryside and jungle! We stopped at a local shop where we tasted fresh coffee and cocoa. The locals showed us around their plantation and we made some purchases from them to take back with us. We hopped back on the ATVs and headed to the beach that was reserved for us with an amazing lunch on the beach. I think because I booked this experience outside of the ship, we had this excursion completely private to my husband and I, it was just us and our two guides the whole time. We felt so spoiled and VIP the whole time! They really let us do what we wanted and followed our lead when we wanted to go back. Our lunch on the beach was absolutely delicious and Carlos made us rum and coke to enjoy while at the beach! It was a little rainy this day, which we didn’t mind because it allowed us to cool off but we didn’t stay at the beach for too long. We enjoyed lunch together with our guide on the beach and when we were ready headed back to the ATV shop! Our second guide was taking photos and videos of us the whole time that we purchase when we got back to remember the best time we had! I recommend Iguana Mama to everyone and we told everyone on the ship how amazing this excursion was! We can’t wait to come back to DR and try another...

We are two early 60s women in decent shape and we wanted a real nature adventure. The folks at Iguana Mama really wanted to be sure we could handle the Magic Mushroom Canyoning tour with high jumps, lots of climbing over slippery rocks, rappelling off of 45 ft cliffs and swimming through canyons with a wetsuit on as well as bouldering up steep cliffs to get out of the canyon. We assured them we could and booked the trip. We were quite surprised when the van showed up 5 min. early empty and we were told by our wonderful guide Carlos ( who we had known from a previous tour we did this week) that we were the only ones going on this tour. We had a wonderful ride through the countryside and mountain towns east of Cabarete with Maximo, our driver and Carlos, who explained many things to us as we went along. After getting suited up in wet suit, helmet and taking another short drive, we entered the canyon. Others have described what happens there and how beautiful it was so I won't go into that. But there were 3 very capable guides on this trip watching our every step if we looked like we might slip. They made if fun and they made it safe. We didn't feel cold with the wetsuits on and the water was warmer than I thought it would be. We were thrilled to have done this and that we had the canyon all to ourselves. Carlos and the other guides made it an incredible experience we will never forget. After it was over we had a truly delicious home cooked Dominican meal by one of our guides family at their home. It was such a great day. We were back by 1:30 and still had lots of time to enjoy time on the beach. Iguana Mama is a spectacular company...
