Changing my review from two years ago. The food was ok, although the shrimp salad looked weird. They really diced the shrimps finely. Not sure why they had to do it. However, the service is awful. We were the only customers between breakfast and dinner. Front Loop next door was hustling and bustling with people. Maybe that's because of the the service. The waiters congregated in the back of the restaurant, socializing and checking their phones. You needed a stroke of luck to get their attention. One time, I ordered chocolate shake and club soda. I got only chocolate shake, and they would have to go to the bar to order the soda. It's too much to keep two things in mind. Remember, the only customers there. Maybe the restaurant is not paying them, so they don't feel like they need to work. Oh, well. They still open early for breakfast unlike other places. Shame.
Review from two years prior: Overall, it was good. They open at 7:30am which is a huge plus since not many places open early. For breakfast, they have a buffet. They had to make my eggs three times. First, they heard scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up (??). Then, they overcooked it. It was accompanied with eye-rolling and not surreptitiously, but right in front of me.
A little expensive. But the food was pretty good. And service, overall, was also good.
It is not the best location if you want to swim in the ocean. Right in front of the restaurant the ocean is full of seaweed. I had to walk some distance to the right (when facing the water) to get some good swimming. But not a big deal. Good place if you don't want to spend at Voy Voy...
Read moreWe went to Serenade on a Friday for their sunset happy hour, which was great. We loved spending time there seating by the beach, so we stayed for dinner. We ordered the calamari and ceviche for starters, the mahi mahi and garlic shrimp for mains, and the key lime pie for desert. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. The location on Cabarete is also perfect, right by the beach, close to the center of town, but slightly removed from the busiest area of restaurants. Best location in Cabarete! As a bonus, on Friday nights they have live music starting at 8pm, which we loved! We’ll definitely be...
Read moreI can’t believe there’s only one review for Serenade on here! This is definitely one of my top 3 restaurants in Cabarete. The food is always a hit; the staff is super kind; and the chef will accommodate pretty much anything you want that may not be on the menu. I have been living here for almost a year so I have been to ALL restaurants lol! Serenade is one of the restaurants I’ve chosen to have dinner with all my friends coming to visit for my 40th birthday sooooo yeah. Definitely give this...
