The Establishment has an authentic Dominican feel and the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu was written in both Spanish and English which made it helpful for Tourists. The food was amazing and it has both local flavor and flavor from around the world. The price you could not beat. This is a must stop for anyone in the area. Sadly our third visit to this was poor we ordered tomato soup and the waitress which was the nice lady older see tomato which is number 2 on the menu tomato soup when the soup came it was a fish soup and we asked her where was it ,the tomato soup and she said no no see tomato soup and after much discussion she's said that it was Bishop and that we would like it. The fact that we had our hearts sent on the tomato soup because it was very excellent the last time we were there was disappointing. We ordered pasta Alfredo and when mine came out it was covered and ham bologna and little hot dog bitss which was truly disappointed because I was just hoping for alfredo sauce and pasta. The guest with me ordered the Alfredo with shrimp pasta halfway through and he noticed a few things moving in his meal and it ended up being a few bugs which is understandable since you're in and outdoor restaurant but the fact that the meals just came was kind of disheartening. So after two visits we enjoyed it so much but after the third visit we just paid our bill and end up walking across the street to Roma to get dinner since we were starved. Sad too this restaurant was so amazing the first two visits. The whole time that little old lady / waitress just kept smiling at us she made no attempt to bring us the correct soups nor did she even bother to notice that neither one of us touched our meals. At that point we just wanted to leave and find a restaurant so that we could have a nice meal that night. The restaurant went from a 5 to a solid...
Read moreIt has been a while since I have been in Cabarete and Happy Family wasn’t around back then. I saw it had great reviews, a presence on social media and the menu looked awesome. The first time I went it was raining and I only had the fish soup. It was everything I hoped for and more. It was comforting for the weather and made to order. I stopped in again because I have been wanting lambí since I returned and I’m glad I chose Happy Family to get it from. I ordered it al ajillo and it was so delicious, came with a side ( I chose tostones ) and a little salad. The owners are a local family, are very friendly, accommodating and have great service- something hard to find around here lol I will 100% be going back again before I leave. If you’re visiting Cabarete- this is definitely one place to try! And if you live here and haven’t gone...
Read moreI absolutely love Happy Family! I have been to Cabarete several times now, and every time I am in the area, I always go here! In addition to offering delicious, authentic, home-cooked, Dominican food that is very reasonably priced, the family who owns the restaurant is so friendly and kind and will go out of their way to make sure that you have a positive experience! In particular, ask for Jhon, their son, who is very personable, and is a great server!
I also love that they have a wide variety of foods, from your traditional Dominican dishes to yummy pastas, to pizza and seafood!! Not to mention my favorite fresh fruit juices and piña colada!! Again, highly...
