The employees here range from incredibly service oriented to complacent and lazy. The lazy daytime manager prefers to sit on a couch with his face in his phone, while basic maintenance issues go unaddressed. The incredibly good employee -- James -- does his best to overcome the hotel's deficiencies which result from the poor maintenance. Here is what faced me. I was first given a room with a huge moldy brown stain on the ceiling, right over the bed. That huge moldy brown stain had been caused by some sort of liquid, seeping from whatever was on the floor above. Beyond this health hazard, this room also has a television and a refrigerator that didn't work. The helpful employee, James, then managed to find another room. This room did not have a huge moldy brown stain on the ceiling, above the bed. All seemed fine. The helpful employee worked with me to move my luggage, and left. Everything seemed acceptable, until I went into the bathroom, and was greeted by a toilet with no seat -- another health hazard left unaddressed. When he and I tried to tell the daytime manager about this problem, the daytime manager dismissed me with a wave of his hand, and walked away. How can a hotel rent rooms with huge brown moldy stains on the ceiling, and toilets with no seats? How can a daytime manager sit on his butt all day playing with his phone, while the hotel has these basic maintenance problems? Even apart from this, the hotel provides only a small bar of soap in the bathrooms. No shampoo. No extras. After staying I've night, I investigated the hotel next door, which was so much better maintained. I checked out of FrĂo Hot, and into the hotel next door. Which was so much better. I will add that the food at the FrĂo Hot restaurant is good, at is the service. I ate and drank at the FrĂo Hot restaurant after moving to Vicentina next door. Two stars, rather than one (or zero), because of the employees who do care about their work, and despite the negligence of the owners...

Read moreChecked in at 3 PM at this hotel, on 12 Sep 2020. Was assigned Room 207. Booked for 2 nights. By 5 PM, Air Conditioning failed. It was a windowless Room. Inside the room the temperature soared to 43 deg C. Had to stay in the lobby until 11 PM. Insisted that I pay for food in cash. Night Manager Refused to find alternate hotel room to sleep. I notified the Reception and the manager that I am cancelling the second night and they assured me that they would refund me. Next day, the receptionist said that she would initiate refund and I would receive it in a week. No refund was forthcoming, so I visited the hotel on my way back to Punta Cana on the 18 Sep. Spoke to Perci Zapata. He repeated the same lie.....âwe will refund the chargesâ. It has been more than 3...
