Hotel Don Michele — Hotel in La Hispaniola

The experience started poorly at check in. There was a line and only one desk clerk. The manager was on duty and in the back, but refused to come out to help. The porter had a bad attitude and motioned for me to drag my luggage to his cart. The first room had no hot water. I asked about repairs, attitude again and waited 56 minutes for someone to tend to the issue. Got moved to another room and it had no hot water. Then we got moved to an upgraded room and it finally had hot water and no towel rack and no soap. This was a comedy. ||||I specifically asked if the Internet was solid and there was none except in the lobby which was infested with biting mosquitos. They did not offer to spray the area where I needed to work.||||The food was good quality and the restaurant staff was humble and responsive. ||||Upon checkout after 3 days, I asked for my refund from the front desk for the safe lock. I was told I needed to produce the receipt to be refunded my $50 deposit. I had already returned the lock and key. The clerk wanted to argue with me. I asked for the manager. He refused to come out and service me. He was yelling at the clerk to tell me to get the receipt or he was not going to refund my money. I protested and they finally found the copy and refunded my $50 deposit. The manager would not come to meet me and was sitting behind the wall. His name was Angel De La Cruz and was not an angel by any stretch. I will never use this hotel again while this manager and staff attitudes...

Small hotel on the beach. Be advised, it is In the middle of construction. The staff and owner are great and will cater to your every need. Mario the owner, is a great cook. No menu, tell him what you want and he will make it. Mario is Italian and his cooking skills are exceptional.I had shrimp and lobster with fresh pasta. Best meal in the DR. The next day I had a small hangover and Mario made me simple food to get me by. I recommend this hotel for couples and single men who like local flavor and the small hotel experience. If you are not familiar with Boca Chica it has a colorful nightlife which is great for single men, but maybe not families with small children. hotel del tutto anonimo senza neanche una insegna degna di nota, l'entrata dalla calle duarte n. 42 devi conoscerlo altrimenti neanche la vedi ... non possiede una reception sembra un ristorante con le camere per dormire che non sono affatto male ma.... dipende da quanto le pagate ... l'ho denominato l'hotel dei contrasti è ben localizzato vicino alla discoteca el batey, ha parcheggio interno, un ristorante, un accesso alla spiaggia che attraversando un bar molto lungo poi a soli due metri si puo' accedere in spiaggia, (costituita da un metro di lunghezza non di piu' e si è gia' in acqua) dei lettini per distendersi al sole qualche tavolo "vintage" per non dire unti e consunti e poco assortiti uno diverso dall'altro ... le attrezzature del bar sono totalmente vintage mentre la struttura dell'hotel appare sopra la media... passiamo al patio bar lo spazio è vanificato da piante in vasi di "fortuna" qua e là senza alcun assortimento o gusto nell'arredamento un paio di voliere con pappagallini sporche all'inverosimile "per fortuna ho fatto la vaccinazione della aviaria H1 N1" un paio di cani che scorrazzano per la struttura il personale non sempre sa quello che fa e finalmente si nota la vigilanza notturna di una persona (c'erano state alcune lamentele ma è stato provveduto) ho fatto il desayuno ossia la colazione in hotel ma non ho mai avuto il coraggio di mangiare al ristorante che non ha un menu' bisogna chiedere al proprietario cosa ti preparerebbe e poi eventualmente accettare "l'invito" .. io preferisco un menu ed ordinare .. la pulizia delle camere pare sufficiente qualche piccolo disservizio ma siamo in rep dominicana ... nessuno si meraviglia .. molta ruggine un po dappertutto frigo del bar e piccolo frigo in camera (n.3) le voliere sono arrugginite ed i tavoli del bar compreso il bancone andrebbero ristrutturati o addirittura cambiati||hotel da scegliere se vi interessa la localizzazione vicino la discoteca e la vita notturna e non siete dei sofisticati snobbisti allora questo è l'hotel che fa per voi .. se volete dei consigli spassionati rivolgetevi al dipendente fabrizio sempre disponibile a trovare una soluzione ai vostri problemi||||||per non parlare della professionalita' presunta del...
