You just can't judge a book by its cover. When I finally found this "small" hotel I was a bit worried. I just did not like the parking situation so immediately my first impression was I made a mistake, but as soon as I walked into the room, it kind of grew on me. The room was clean, quite spacious and I liked having the kitchenette with all the amenities needed in the kitchen, it reminded me of a studio apartment. Its really not small at all, once you get to the rooms. It even had a balcony. The furniture though could use an upgrade, fast. ||They provide a continental breakfast but I was a bit disappointed with the selection, however, having a kitchen fixed all that, if you didn't mind having to cook it yourself but at least you got what you wanted. ||The staff were friendly and the security made sure I always had a spot as close to the front door as possible. If a front desk staff couldn't speak English, they found someone that could. Most of the room was clean except for the open cupboards had dust in them and the balcony furniture was dirty. We did go the grocery store two times without any problems but, I was always looking around my surroundings to make sure no one was following us.|I would not recommend staying here unless you are adventurous and like the city...
Read moreWe just returned from Plaza Florida suites after staying here for 6 nights. We picked this hotel because it was 3 blocks from the local hospital which I unfortunately had to stay in too. While I was in the hospital for 2 nights my wife was here alone feeling totally safe. The suite was spacious with a kitchenette. I also walk daily 4 blocks to the local supermarket where we purchased all our food. Rooms were kept clean daily, nice little fitness room, very popular seafood restaurant & bar just outside the hotel. Front counter staff spoke great English, good continental breakfast every morning. Local traffic outside was a bit noisy but I slept with earplugs with no problem. Very comfortable bed. Took a cab to the Colonial Zone one day $300 Dominican pesos. All in All I had...
