Il Bacareto — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Found a little gem! For us the people whom enjoy to dine out and to have different culinary experiences, we tend to avoid Strip mall restaurants because they are most of the times just a small nudge above fastfood quality, therefore I have passed in front of this particular place and never gave it a second look because from the outside neither the mall nor the front of the restaurant seem worthy of a second look. But thanks to recommendations on line I went last night with my wife and son, boy was this place a pleasant surprise! Great ambiance (once inside) and the food was fantastic, everything from the bread to the lasagna to the ravioli to the linguine di mare! Had Burrata and Parma ham for starters and it was also delicious! My impression of strip mall restaurants hasn't changed but I was glad to find this delicious exception! Very nice place and an "almost there experience".

Our pasta was slightly undercooked ( there was a thin white line of uncooked flour in the interior ) and this shouldn't happen when paying us$ 15 for a pasta dish.

The place is noicy, the light was flickering and in some points blinking for a couple of seconds.

The service was good until we asked for the check which we waited for about 10 minutes.
