Pepe´s House Cuenca | Hotel & Boutique Hostel — Hotel in Cuenca

We (4 people) booked through Hostelworld app for two nights from Baños. We wanted to try this place and compare to Selinas. We called and told them, that we could not book for 4 people but only for 3 people through the app, which was strange. The receptionist told us - we could come and figure it out together, which was fine. Then I asked, how much would it cost us, if we want to arrive earlier than their check-in time. He gave us the price and everything was fine. So when we arrived earlier, no one was there to receive us, with all our luggage. We called and the receptionist/ or the person who was in charge just hang up. Unbelievable!! Fortunately we had a pleasant time at SELINA before, so we went there again and the receptionist didn’t charge extra. Really...

This place is incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for exploring the historic Center of Cuenca. Plus, there are cats.

Edit: I came back! I loved this place so much it was worthy of a return. I stayed one week in the Balcony Suite. My only complaint which I didn’t notice last time is there is an area of the room that has practically no WiFi (the bed, where I wanted to use it the most). Lovely B&B with very friendly, helpful staff in a fantastic location. I had one night with other guests in the hotel so could tell that there is next to no soundproofing when people are walking around and having conversations, hence dropping a star. On the other nights I was the only guest so it was perfectly quiet & comfortable for me. Breakfast was excellent - plentiful and all fresh, homemade options. I also liked the little roof terrace for morning meditation and afternoon sun. I did find it expensive but that seems to be the case with accommodation options in Cuenca...
