This is an excellent option if you are heading to Cuenca. The location cannot be better. it is in the historic center within easy walking distance to all places of interest, just behind the city's main cathedral. The building has been impeccably restored. It is brand new with beautiful woodwork and excellent art pieces on every floor. The interior is welcoming, elegant and comfortable. Rooms are excellent, spacious and well-maintained. A high window lets a lot of light into the room, at the same time, if you do not want the light, beautiful wood panels will close it off. As I needed a desk/table, it was immediately brought into my room. Bathrooms are excellent with all modern commodities, what you do not always find in Ecuador. Breakfast at the newly open comfortable cafe was delicious. The owner/chef Javier makes excellent pastry, superb jams, amazing natural juices and other yummy treats. |But the best asset of this hotel is its staff. These are the people who genuinely make you feel welcome and practically go out of their way to accommodate their guests. No request is too difficult for them. I highly recommend this hotel for a culturally...
Read moreAs someone who works in white-glove service, I take note whenever someone or somewhere delivers quality service. Management rescued my cousins and me from a nightmare of an airb&b. They reserved a room for us at 1 am and arranged for a cab once curfew lifted at 5 am. Upon arrival, we realized the manager, Carlos, had been answering our frantic messages/ calls even though it was not his shift! Even so, he had done so with kindness and compassion. His staff also embodied this level of service. They were always polite and attentive. It made a beautiful hotel even better!||||Every whim, concern, and question was answered almost immediately. Every night, we came back to a spotless room! It is evident they were not only cleaning but disinfecting the rooms. Furthermore, they would make sure to lock the door as soon as curfew came and sometimes throughout the day (in case anyone and their germs chose to wander in). As three women traveling alone during COVID, we felt very safe in every way at Flore. If you are looking for a hotel that takes safety and value seriously,...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights. Please prepare cash since there is no tax. Now list these pros and cons for future travelers:
Pros: -Very very friendly and helpful staff!!!! -Location is A++. There is a flower plaza right at the corner and the view from suite is just gorgeous! -Room is very spacious. -Lots of food around. Very safe area.
Cons: -The design of the room is a bit non user-friendly. Eg. cold during spring nights, large empty space in the suite, narrow channel to bathroom, no easy way to turn off the lights if you’re on bed. -Breakfast is just ok, compared with other hotels we stayed. -Not too much amenities, e.g cup, hair dryer. Please ask staff if you need them and make sure you bring your shampoo and lotions. -The taxi service they arranged is higher than usual price. We were charged 7 dollars from airport to hotel but it only took us 2 dollars to go back to airport. -Quite a bit of street noise at night. But I guess it’s common for hotels in...
