Although they have many good reviews, we had a very disappointing stay in this hostal. The owner and his son were pleasant. The rooms are very dark and the double room with en-suite we stayed had clothing left behind, other peoples toiletries, you can hear everything, there’s no privacy at all. Aside from this the female owner, was EXTREMELY RUDE to us in the morning whilst serving breakfast, I don’t know if she didn’t like us? They arranged airport pickup and drop off which made the whole process of getting to/from the Posada much easier (the Quito airport is about 40min outside of the city). Yolanda also made delicious breakfasts with eggs, freshly squeezed juice, coffee, fruit salad, and fresh baked goods. We couldn't have been made more welcome, they are really an incredible family! We feel so lucky to have found them and had the opportunity to stay at Posada Tambuca. Side note - a great location to walk to all the interesting spots in the city as well as hop up on the bus...
