Read moreI spent about 4 nights here. This was my fourth visit to Cairo, but first in ten years. First the standouts: Olfat in reception helped me mitigate any issues I had. She was super. Also Alma in housekeeping was very kind too. It's located next to government buildings, so it is very quiet and security is strong, although it is close to Tahir Square and the old AUC campus. A couple areas to improve: although the buffet was great- omelet- pancake guy was not. First day: omelet guy managed to burn my omelet but not melt the cheese. 2nd day- burnt pancakes. 3rd day (because I'm a glutton for punishment) omelet guy said 3 minutes for pancakes that never showed up. 4th day I was fighting some Pharaohs revenge and took toast to go.
Another gripe is the Kenny G loop that plays when you are waiting for or on the omelet. I'm not sure the decision behind this but to me- it is a grating earbug that it took a few days to recover from.
There was a nice looking plunge pool that was not usable as it was next to the 13th floor restaurant.
Also in Egypt in the summer I'm grateful when I could get my air conditioning to 16 degrees. This hotel's room came...

We were assured of a favorable rate, but upon arrival, the hotel unexpectedly increased the fee by an additional $30, which was equivalent to the price advertised online, including Booking fees. Given the late hour, we had no choice but to accept the change.||||The room we were given was extremely small, with barely enough space to move around. We stayed for the night but decided to leave the following day. During checkout, we were asked to wait while the staff checked the room, purportedly to ensure we hadn’t forgotten anything. However, they later contacted us, claiming there was damage and requested additional payment for a towel replacement, citing a stain they couldn’t remove after a brief attempt for 5 minutes to clean it.||||In total, we paid $80 for a small room for just 12 hours, and then were asked to cover the cost of a towel. Overall, the experience was far from...
