We stayed at the Triumph for 3 nights – 1 on arrival to Egypt, to fly out (very early) next morning to Luxor, and then on the way back 2 nights until departure to London.|First impressions were good – the hotel has an impressive atrium, super high ceiling, lots of marble – gives an opulent and luxurious vibe. However, the service overall is not what I would expect from a 5-star hotel at international standards.|First of all, we were travelling as a family – my wife and I and our 2 daughters (13 and 15). 2 rooms. On (first) arrival, they tell us that the rooms are in different floors – which is of course unacceptable. After much deliberation amongst them, they give us 2 rooms in the same floor but in different wings, and both with twin beds. Given it was for a short night only, we accepted, and were promised that this would be rectified when we came back later that week; I had a similar exchange with their marketing department when they were asking us to post a review. And of course, it wasn’t rectified – same problem (different floors), same solution (2 twin rooms), at least close by – but can’t understand why they couldn’t foresee something so obvious, and solve it in advance rather than trying to do it only upon our arrival. They offered us an upgrade for the second night, but we declined – too much hassle for 1 night.|The hotel is located in New Cairo, while on hindsight we would have preferred to be located downtown, close to the Egyptian Museum area – but that’s on us. There are several ATMs inside the building, which was very helpful. One wing faces the street, and really needs double-double glazing; when there is a traffic jam (there was a massive event one day) the honking can be clearly heard inside the room.|Great buffet breakfast – but no decaf coffee. Outdoor (heated) pool is surrounded on all four sides by the building itself. Indoor pool is nice, not too big but ok, but doesn’t communicate with the changing rooms where the sauna is, nor with any toilet; also, you have to bring the towel from your room, because the gym (where you have to go to ask to be let into the pool area) won’t lend you any, and room cleaning service won’t give you extra towels (only one per person). Large bedrooms and bathrooms. Confusing lighting system in the rooms – switching it off also switched off some sockets so discovered next morning that phone hadn’t charged. Extractor fan in the bathroom is very noisy, with no way of turning off – it can be heard even with the heavy door fully closed. Couldn’t connect “smart” tv to any device despite trying repeatedly – it should be simple and not need a degree in computer science. In one of the rooms the switches for the reading lights had simply been taken off, so didn’t work. Finally, I understand practices change from country to country, but finding out that they allow smoking indoors was not pleasant.|All in all, luxurious yes, 5-star service no; considering the price, only merits a...
Read moreDon't be fooled by the reviews, this hotel is not branded and not worth a 5-star rating. It is like a military bunker: 1: There is no police security at the gate or anywhere in the hotel. 2- The majority of the staff, especially the management, are not wearing any name tags. 3- There is no management in this hotel, as the hotel sraff will bury you in the Rabbit Hole in case of any issue and will not help you at all. I reserved two connected rooms directly with the hotel for 6 nights, and at the time of check-in, the hotel informed me one of the rooms would not be ready and would be ready later, and they didn't know when they could give it to us because a member of the ALAHLI club was in the room (I don't know why this stupid hotel gave them a connected room! ). Hotel staff said just check into one room and wait, it is a really confusing situation as we were tired after a long flight. We waited in the first room for any updates, Around 5 p.m., I decided to talk to the General Manager as there was no update from the hotel, but he was not available. I went to the reception. There was a guy (Sami) who called himself front desk manager who did nothing for me, and he was acting like a clown, not respcting my family without offering any solutions and refusing to connect me to the hotel General Manager. We were treated in a very bad way, and this guy failed to contain the situation. After a long discussion at 6 p.m., he really made me angry, and I decided to leave to eat Lunch as my family was tired and hungry. By 9:30 pm, we received a WhatsApp message from the hotel saying that the room was ready, What a joke. So as we were outside the hotel, we went back, and they wanted to charge me for the room! And Sami acted very badly with me, blaming me for my anger. After a long discussion with Sami the clown, I was the one who tried to give solutions, but this clown by midnight suddenly denied any agreement with me as he agreed with me to pay for one room only for the night (because I will not pay for a room they wanted to give me after 9:30 pm) and he said I want you out of the hotel now and I will send security to your room, Such military action I never saw in my life. It ended up taking our luggage by ourselves without help from the hotel by the middle of the night, shame on this hotel management to treat family tourists like this. I can really say that such behavior from this stupid hotel does not represent the value of Egyptian people; it only represents this stupid hotel staff. While I reserved 2 rooms in the Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel, although it was after midnight, the hotel manager was very nice with me, gave me connected rooms, and checked in my family before I even finished my registration. Bottom line : The reason I wrote this review is because I think all people should be careful before reserving in...
Read moreFirst time and definitely my last time to stay here even for free or business The facility is really good and rooms are nice I can’t complain about it My reason for this rating is more about management and how they poorly manage the hotel while I understand the policy and rules…. Etc You can easily find alternative options to make your guests happy and that’s doesn’t happen at all. As per policy you should leave your room at any time to come to hotel main entrance and in order to receive your deliveries ( food …. Etc ) At 1 am the operator saying you need to come here to get your food delivery and sign paper that this food is under your responsibility and that’s the rules . If this is the rules which’s doesn’t make any sense then I’m ok I have to follow the rules but you also as hotel management can make it easy let your guys bring the delivery to my room and let me sign your declaration not just to let me wear my clothes and do all this effort at 1 am ! However they bring the food to my room before like 2:3 times but this time they said no we can’t. Policy is not applied and the guy even didn’t ask me to sign any papers so policy is no policy. Same day I reach to my room and I forget my key inside so I call them from my kids rooms and I asked for help to open my room and the answer was “ come take it “ and definitely I said no I’ll not come send someone. During my checkout at 7:30 am the same guy in the recipient was the same person that we discuss about delivery so basic questions that you expect to get from him about my stay and if I’m ok or not and since he know I’m not ok he avoids asking me any questions just to let me go without even single word or greetings or any simple words that might help to lessen my anger towards what happen last night but he was like “ go “ One time I have a visitor and I asked to keep his car for 5 min in valet parking area and it’s fine for any cost so the guy told me to get permission from Mr. Hatem ! So I don’t know who’s Hatem and of course it’s not my job to ask him so I told him I don’t know who’s Hatem ! He said ok wait , then he went to one person seating in sofa at corner and he came back saying No we can’t keep the car here it’s for “ rich people” I really laughed because I don’t know how they can evaluate rich and none rich while we pay the same cost ! To be fair again they have a good facility , good pool, gym and the laundry man was really professional dealing with clothes but unfortunately I felt like I’m staying in...
