I visited this restaurant today with my baby and two friends, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Most of the outdoor tables were empty when we arrived, so we picked a spot and sat down. However, a staff member approached us in a rude manner, asking us to leave the table so they could clean it.
We moved, and I stood there holding my baby while waiting for them to clean the table. Moments later, the same staff member informed us that the table we were waiting for was actually reserved, even though he initially said they would clean it for us. This was frustrating, especially since the place was mostly empty.
We then chose another table, only to be told yet again that it was reserved. Finally, on our third attempt, we were told we could sit down. By this point, my friends and I felt unwelcome and decided to leave.
As we were leaving, the same staff member asked why, and I explained that his approach was unpleasant, and I pointed out that he could have cleaned the table while we were sitting, especially considering I had a baby with me. His response “Do you want to sit at an unclean table?” was both inappropriate and unprofessional. He even added that we should have asked for permission before sitting down, which felt unnecessary since the place was empty when we arrived.
Overall, the experience left us feeling disrespected...
Read moreI had tried Zia Amelia in Gouna a few years back and really enjoyed the quaint, authentic atmosphere and the food was lovely. We live in the UK and visit family in Cairo and I noticed they had opened a branch in New Cairo. Myself and family (3 adults and baby) decided to go there quite excited as we really wanted a change from Egyptian food and over priced poor quality international food that you can pay in new Cairo. Firstly it’s a ‘it place’ so it’s not an authentic, cute little restaurant like Gouna so I always have my suspicions when a place is busy if the food will be of standard. I was right, it was AWFUL!!! I ordered the salmon fillets that arrived Raw inside (I love sashimi but this was horrid) poorly presented and just a real shame that a restaurant is inadequate to cook a salmon fillet well. My husband and father ordered seafood pizzas and when I say terrible I mean the worst! The seafood was frozen packet seafood, I don’t think there was even prawns on the pizza. They added clams in shells to make it look fancy and there was nothing inside the clams. I think they partly defrosted the seafood in the oven on the pizza because the pizza base was sooooooo soggy and the colour was grey. Hardly any marinara sauce and just all round terrible food unfortunately
I can’t possibly waste...
