Victoria Hotel is definitely a disappointment. When I first arrived, I agreed on a nightly rate of 1500 EGP and paid for three nights. The next day, they increased the price by around 30%, bringing it close to 2100 EGP. I refused to accept this and pointed out that the promises made yesterday were inconsistent with what they were telling me now, calling it two-faced behavior. I said I would check out. Later, I was called to the reception where we discussed the issue, and they promised to keep the price at 1500 EGP as initially agreed. However, the next morning, another staff member updated the price to 1700 EGP. In this hotel, everyone gives a different price.
I ended up staying five more days, but during these five days, breakfast was only brought to my room on the days I made payments. On the other days, no breakfast was delivered to my room. On the last day, the ceiling in my room collapsed, and my clothes and luggage were soaked in mud, and my bag got torn. I had my clothes washed, but I told them that they should compensate me for the damaged bag. However, they used excuses like free breakfast and parking services to tell me to keep quiet about the bag. I had to ask the person who came to my room to leave.
In this hotel, everyone is two-faced, and there is no sincerity. The only exception is Mr. Ahmed at the reception, who is a very polite gentleman and helped me in every situation. I sincerely thank him and recommend that he pursue his career at a larger hotel chain.
Victoria Hotel, located near the Ramses area in Cairo, is truly a regretful choice, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially...
Read moreFull of Scums. I booked one triple room and one double room through agoda. the triple room booking was ok. But the double room was said to be single occupancy only when i attempted to check in with the front desk. I didn't know what went wrong. I searched for double room, and it said max 2 people, but the final booking appeared to be 1. At first they said they could not do anything, and asked me to edit or cancel my booking. It was booked by Agoda through bookings.com, so i could not do any editing. after a while they said i can pay 40 USD to add one pax. 40 USD excuse me? do i look super rich or super stupid? with 40USD i could book another room. 40USD is what Hilton would charge to add one pax. Dont flatter yourself as a 5star holel. After over 1 hour argument they said 25 USD to add one pax, and that is their hotel policy. Hey someone just changed the hotel policy from 40USD to 25USD. So your hotel policy is fluid depending one what kind of customer you can scam.
Victoria means old and stale, nothing about elegance. In the room, the wooden floor is decades old. the socket is shaky. the TV is facing the fridge, but not any of the beds or sofa.
Super noise. the window is not noise proof at all. So the rooms facing the street will receive traffic noise the whole night, and wild dog pack barking 3:30am. My uncle and aunt had a whole night sleepless.
Agoda does filter out my 1 star review. That was my first one star review. Can Agoda give some respect to that? That's means the revew on the agoda on this hotel is...
Read moreThe staff at this hotel could and should provide lessons about customer care in the hospitality industry, as they are simply wonderful. Friendly, solution-oriented, always there with a kind word, transport solutions or advice, they make one feel welcome from the very moment he or she steps inside the lobby. The hotel, hosted in a period property with large rooms featuring tall ceilings, is conveniently located within walking distance from two subway stations, with groceries nearby. The rooms, as well as the bathrooms, are well appointed and breakfast is good, diverse, being served on a fine terrace. Some rooms are quieter (those on the breakfast terrace and entrance side). A wonderful cafeteria with its walls adorned with paintings and photos is a welcome place to relax between sightseeing walks and museum visits. A recommended mid range hotel to stay in Cairo and a big shukran to...
