A local colleague took us there for breakfast. We got breakfast that included hummus, baba ganoush, soft white cheese, yogurt, feteer meshaltet (layered pastry with butter), taameya (Egyptian falafel), ful medames (mashed fava beans) and of course Egyptian bread. Everything was fresh and tasty. I really liked the taameya, crispy on the outside and soft inside but not at all dry. The ful medames was my absolute favourite. Balanced flavor with olive oil, combined with the bread, it was just YUM. We loved the breakfast so much we went again for dinner where we got mixed grill and mahshi ( stuffed vegetables). These too were tasty, some of the meat could have been softer. The waiters were fast. Restaurant was very busy both times. Local vibe but we enjoyed that. Overall a really good experience.
The food is good. But service 🤦🏼♂️. At my first visit I ordered meal with juice. They brought me meal, but I waited juice for about 40 minutes, and asked about it several times. Finely the brought me it and I asked check. And they gave me check and count juice twice. When I told officiant that I didn't order second juice they brought me another one🤦🏼♂️. In another day I had the same problem, they brought me two drinks instead of one. The place is also crowded. But what makes me return in that place again is a taste of food. I tried to eat in other places, and realized that food is too salt or seasoning or insipid. So I recommend to visit this place. But I also recommend restaurant increase the service, there a lot of officiants swarm around with no purpose. Thanks.
Atmosphere. There are multiple GADs in Cairo, I was in the one, nearby Tahrir Square. It is two-floored building. The first floor might seem a typical street food place, with many chefs and dishes. But when you go to the second floor, you feel yourself like in a restaurant — tables, chairs, menu e.t.c. Staff, unlike most other restaurants in Cairo, weared masks all the time. That was surprisingly sweet :3
Food and Prices. The prices are below average or exactly average, so you won't spend to much here. That is fact, beacuse portions are big. Like not "a bit bigger than normal", but bigger. You can easily fulfill your stomach with only one dish. Everything we ate was tasty, they add a lot of bread to every dish, so don't order extra).
