Free guidance with details that thankfully increased my enthusiasm and motivated me to go back and know more details. It's interesting to know the history of mails from ancient times up today. Royality and elegance are the spirits of the museum. Professionalism was also the main target in establishing the Egyptian postal Authority at the beginning of the 20th century, where the postman was well equipped with tools from a clock up to a gun to protect self from any potential attacks during the mail delivery. Hosting the 10th Universal Postal Union 1934 was such a prideful event gathering a high number of the greatest countries such as the UK, USA, Italy, Japan, etc. They shared their uniforms of the postman and some of their stamps. I loved the conference logo, which represents all means of mail delivery in one. Great experience with thank you. 👍👌

Absolutely astonishing, i never expected all this richness in info and all this love to smallest details. It was a big surprise for me and i was especially pleased that it has a dedicated kids corner where the kids can play post office, write letters and do lots of puzzles. The welcoming atmosphere and the knowledge of the staff won my heart absolutely. I never knew about how many steps it takes until a simple letter arrives from place A to B.... especially important today in our digital times, to look back into how much effort the generations before us did to exchange information. Bring your kids, they will love the models of planes, carriages, ships and motocycles....

A true hidden gem in the heart of Cairo! 🌟 I had the place almost to myself, wandering through the awesome history of Egypt’s postal service — the first in Africa and the Middle East! The museum is full of treasures; some stamps are actually older than entire countries that exist today.😅 There’s always a friendly guide available to walk you through the halls, but even exploring on your own feels like stepping back in time. Don’t miss the small gift shop — the prices are surprisingly affordable (honestly, very low!). If you love history, culture, or simply discovering something unique, this spot is a must-visit. Go, enjoy, and feel proud of how rich Egypt truly is. 🇪🇬

It is a long overdue review, but it is with incredible disappointment that I have to rate this place poorly. I visited the museum on Friday, November 8 2024. I expected that there won’t be many visitors as there aren’t many people interested in philately nowadays, but I didn’t expect it to be so empty that I was the only visitor in every single room I go to.

At first, a female employee of the museum follows me around, until on a different section, a male employee took turn to follow me instead until the end of my visit. He helped with opening the door for multiple rooms, but there’s pretty much it. It was awkward, but it’s not the problem.

What I very much have problem with is how, towards the end of my visit, just before the exit door that led to the ticket booth, the employee cornered me with another male employee who was stationed outside and asked for my WhatsApp number. At first I thought it was something the museum required, until I realized that they’re asking it for their own self. They didn’t take no for an answer. It got to a point where they almost snatched my phone to write their own number and dial it from my phone. I’m glad I got away without giving my contact information, but I felt incredibly unsafe. I really looked forward to visiting the museum out of love for Egypt and philately, but sadly I must say I won’t recommend anyone visiting this museum alone...
