Yesterday we where there and hands down i wasn't impressed and I am slowly coming to the reality that most published reviews are either paid or courtesy reviews to the owners/investors.

There was unexplained aura of cheapness that lingers with you the moment u walk in and it materialised late in the evening.

We had tomato soup, we asked if it was spicy or not as we had kids; waiter said it's fine yet both my daughters had trouble and didn't finish it.

Then came the mains, two ravioli, one pizza and a fillet. They quickly took the soup bowls and no one questioned why the bowls were left half full.

Ravioli was good yet lacked the sauce, it felt it was one portion of sauce that they had to split over the two plates.

The pizza was good (yet not out of this world). Then came the fillet where the meat quality was sub par by all means and that was not a cheap plate to buy, however the roasted potatoes and vegies as sides were extremely good and left me longing for more.

We ordered starters for me, arancini balls that only came with the mains and they were brown and unappealing not golden as i was expecting and the tomato sauce tasted like it was delivered from a tomato paste tin rather than fresh tomatoes.

Desserts; cheese cake and tiramisu...well they looked the part yet didn't taste the part. We ordered white coffee only to find that I was charged for the milk (more or less the price of the coffee)...That for me was one helluva turn off; it just oozed with cheapness and the waiter's response when I asked was "They don't have an option for white coffee on the register !!!"

The staff were friendly yet the cleanliness is also sub par; we tried to go to the toilet for the little girls and it was OMG moment and decided to head out; messy, not a tissue in sight and the basins are kitchen sinks.

If you really must go then I suggest to order a simple pizza, a safe choice not impressive yet at least not leaving u wondering why u decided to go there in the first place and that u mentally noted not to step foot in that place again.

If ur in downtown i would suggest Le Chesa, cafe riche (both a 5-10 mins walk) or even the drivers' club; places that have character and definitely leaving you with a positive aura and a longing to come back.

As for the prices I will leave it for you to...

This will be the LAST time I come back. The owner really screwed up the place. Do NOT recommend.

First off, we walked in when it was empty and were refused to sit on the larger table in front of the window because weren’t a large enough group. This would make sense if the place was full, but there was only 3 other people there in the entire place.

We ordered the shakshuka, and it came with two tiny pieces of bread that were the size of your thumb. We asked for more bread and it was extra cost, and took at least 10 minutes to bring out, even though the place was empty. And the bread was a stale focaccia bread.

Then we tried ordering the pancakes or waffles, but they said the cook that makes the sweet stuff was not working. So we ordered the fiteer pies, and the portion was tiny and when we tried asking for a second order of the honey (and pay extra) they said that is not allowed because you need to pay for the entire pie to get just the honey. Any good management would provide extra honey, even for free, to make up for the fact that the cook was not working that day.

There is absolutely no flexibility in the service. The owner is really out of touch with business management and is turning away clients with the strict and disappointing rules in place.

Unfortunately this place is going downhill. I would suggest many other cafes in downtown that have good service and...

This was the worst dining experience I have experienced in years. Yesterday, I came with friends to celebrate a special menu "Christmas Lunch/Dinner". The soups tasted like heated water; they were bland with absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. First the soups were served cold and then they were heated by... a microwave! And even when the soups came back they had no seasonings in them whatsoever... The pizzas were flat bread with a bit of cheese; they had no tomato sauce and no seasonings. Terrible. The salads were bland at best. The entrees were improperly made. The service was quite horrible too. The servers first acted like the reality of their food being horrible (and the fact that we, as paying customers, were rightly sending the food back) was our fault. Then when the servers accepted that their food was yes horrible, they began to make excuses that the chef was new. Then the manager came and explained that the food was yes bad but he insisted we pay for the food we did eat even though we had sent much of the food back to the kitchen. In this case 100% the manager should have offered to comp the entire check as the restaurant made horrible mistakes. It was a horrible horrible experience and quite a shame. This restaurant used to be a staple of good food in downtown Cairo. No MORE. Please don't waste your energy, time and money on this...

Came in at 11:15am, food arrived at around 12. Two staff members. 3 other tables were occupied. I went up to ask for the menu, then later asked for his attention to take our order. Ordered the lemon curd pancake, shakshuka eggs, and matcha latte. They didn't have matcha. I walked up to the counter multiple times since they didn't seem to pay much attention to our table. Pros: location and atmosphere. The place is clean, well decorated with large windows. Cons: serving time and food delivery took about an hour. The eggs were undercooked, the pancakes were dry, and the toast was stale and hard as a rock. We asked to exchange it. He brought another 2 pieces that were rotten (green spots/mold was visible). He brought another piece of bread to make it up, but by then we were done with the experience. We left. I went up to the counter and asked to charge me only for the water. They charge 29 Egyptian pounds for a small bottle of water. One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a supposedly upscale restaurant! Will never step foot in there again. It's so sad that it has such great potential, but is left to the hands of employees who don't care much to see it succeed!

The food was amazing, and the service was truly perfect. I highly recommend the sun-dried tomato eggs—they were delicious! This spot is great for a quick breakfast, as the kitchen is impressively efficient; despite being busy, the food doesn't take long at all to arrive. This rapid service is a major highlight. However, be prepared for a few drawbacks. While the quality is high, the spot is a little bit expensive, and it definitely has a touristy feel, with a constant flow of non-locals. My main piece of advice relates to comfort: be aware that it gets hot in the summer as there's no air conditioning inside, and only fans are found. This heat exacerbates the fly problem—there were a lot of them buzzing around, which was quite distracting and unpleasant while eating. Also, the chairs aren't that comfy for lingering. In short: come for the must-try sun-dried tomato eggs and the speedy service, but know that you'll pay a premium, share the space with tourists (and flies!), and won't be sitting in comfort or cool air.
