A fabulous view, warm hospitality, and truly clean and well-kept accommodations are all hallmarks of the Nile View Guesthouse Aswan experience. Mustafa and Ahmed make sure that all your needs are accommodated, while also sharing their pride in their Nubian community on the island.
We really enjoyed the generous and delicious daily breakfasts, and were very pleased with the very fairly priced laundry services that we used. We found it very easy to make arrangements with the staff for boat pick ups and deliveries adjacent to the property.
We took frequent advantage of the proximity of the Kafana restaurant right next-door to the Nile View guest house, finding it great for both dinners and morning coffee.
It's about a 10 minute walk from the public ferry across one of the villages to get to the guesthouse, giving you a chance to stop at one or two local shops for needed supplies and an opportunity to interact with local residents. The ferry itself is cheap, fast, and frequent. You never know whether you'll be sharing space with just other people, or produce and eggs coming from the island and appliances and convenience store supplies heading over there. Be sure to pay attention to the local conventions of men sitting in one part of the boat and women in the other.
I highly recommend a stay at the Nile View Guesthouse on Elephantine Island as a comfortable and charming way to ramp up your Aswan stay to far more than the typical...

We arrived from Luxor to KFC restaurant when they picked us up by boat (private) to get to Nile View. The view is gorgeous, even from the terrace where you have breakfast. The elephantine island is definitely what we were looking for after chaotic cities, And Nile View is on the western side, the most quiet with less boats and noises. Breakfast was the right amount (lunch\dinner option also available), WiFi is the strongest one we've had so far compared to Hurghada and Luxor, and hospitality and kindness of our host were so genuine. Ahmed also helped us find a private car to get to Philae island and subsequently directly to the Aswan airport, all at a fair price! The room was a bit small, pillows were ok, the shower was close to the loo, some light bulbs were missing; but for us they weren't a big issue at all. Hot water was available, beds were comfy but what we loved the most were tinted windows together with curtains, many cloth hooks and even a hygienic shower as bidet! Even though it's new and still in progress, we definitely recommend...
Read moreThis place is truly amazing. Situated in the Elephantine Island, this guest house is immersed in an authentic nubian village, where cars and motorbikes are allowed. This makes the area really relaxing, as you can walk around with no stress. They also come to pick up us from the east bank if Aswuan so we had a 'free boat tour' during sunset. The room is clean, comfortable, and quiet. The food is also really tasty. We had both breakfast and lunch there, and we ate until the last crumb in our plates. But the best part was the view from the restaurant! The host was also really helpful because it organised our transfer to philae and airport. They also have kayak if you want to wander around the Nile. What to say more...we just hope to come...
