During my recent visit to Makani Restaurant in Aswan, I found the experience to be somewhat overrated compared to other dining and beverage options I've tried in various situations. Despite its popularity and positive reviews, my personal experience did not align with the high expectations.

The menu offers a diverse range of items, including American-style crispy burgers and European desserts, which initially seemed promising. However, the dishes I ordered did not meet the anticipated quality. For instance, the flavors lacked the authenticity and richness I have enjoyed at other establishments. Additionally, the beverage selection, while extensive, did not stand out in terms of taste or presentation.

The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant, and the staff is courteous, but these aspects did not compensate for the underwhelming culinary experience. Considering the variety of dining options available in Aswan, I believe there are other venues that offer superior quality and value.

In conclusion, while Makani Restaurant has garnered acclaim, my personal experience suggests that it may not live up to the hype. I would recommend exploring other dining establishments in Aswan that provide a more satisfying and...

Worse meal in Egypt. We had better in desert villages or off a truck. 0 out of 10 Worse beef I ever had in my whole life. It tastes shoe sole, un-chewable. Even if I tried to fail a beef steak I couldn’t make it that bad. Chicken: dry 3 out of 10 Kofta, national specialty: dry, uneatable, shameful; just 1 out of 10 watermelons juice: bad old fruit taste. 4 out of 10. Difficult to fail a watermelon juice, but they did. lemon mint drink: 8 out of 10 roast vegetables: flames too quickly. Dey yet not cooked. How possibly? When I fail BBQ I manage better. beef pie: very chewy meat bits, could not finish past a third of it, despite all the sauce. Unpleasant. 3 or 4 out of 10. beef liver: average. Taste ok, but cooking was bad. Left to traumatise on the grill. 5 out of 10.

service: 1h wait despite only 2 tables to serve. Waiters ok, given there were only 2 tables to serve. Overall service: 5 out of 10. (excluding the service skill of cooking)

Conclusion; this restaurant is a tourist scam near the boats. Great for...

Just a tiny bit shy of 5 stars in my opinion because some basics could have been done better. Considering the surrounding options though this place is a definite must have! It was recommended by my hotel and now I know why - - definitely a tourist friendly site with a beautiful view of the Nile.

Highly recommend the Makani burger which is their signature chicken sandwich and definitely the highlight of our meal. My wife and I had the mojito mint non-alcoholic sodas and although a bit sweet I thought it was very refreshing. The Wings Roulette were tasty but lacked crunch. The fries were a definite miss. Cold, soggy... Not even sure what they were trying to do with those potatoes. Unfortunately we didn't even touch them.

And no, they don't serve alcohol. As most places do not in a mainly Muslim country so best bet is your hotel or just have some delicious non-alcoholic drinks and enjoy...

Great restaurant!! This place is cheap, delicious and very aesthetically appealing. The prices are very very reasonable, my family and I all got 1 main dish, smoothies, extras and even desserts and the total price per person was 10 USD per person. This way not sound very cheap but we ate a lot. We got seated just in front of the huge window outlooking the Nile River and since we went during golden hour, the sun. All the food was great, I recommend the chicken sandwich. One bad thing about this place is that the service is a bit slow. And the most important thing was that they didn’t accept credit card, which I found a little confusing. We ended up paying in dollars since we didn’t have any local money. But overall, this restaurant is great and we will definitely be returning.

We came here twice during our time in Aswan. The first time we had the butterfly steak wrap and a chicken burger. It was good. The second time we were headed to El Masry but the owner was out for prayers. So we came here. At first we were told there wasn't a cook and ended up ordering 2 pies. But then, the cook walked in and the owner/manager took back our untouched pies. We had a half chicken with BBQ sauce along with the hummus and garlic bread sides. Their mixed salad is good too. Above all, this place was open during Ramadan! Makani is certainly a good place for food and drink in Aswan.
