During my recent visit to Makani Restaurant in Aswan, I found the experience to be somewhat overrated compared to other dining and beverage options I've tried in various situations. Despite its popularity and positive reviews, my personal experience did not align with the high expectations.
The menu offers a diverse range of items, including American-style crispy burgers and European desserts, which initially seemed promising. However, the dishes I ordered did not meet the anticipated quality. For instance, the flavors lacked the authenticity and richness I have enjoyed at other establishments. Additionally, the beverage selection, while extensive, did not stand out in terms of taste or presentation.
The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant, and the staff is courteous, but these aspects did not compensate for the underwhelming culinary experience. Considering the variety of dining options available in Aswan, I believe there are other venues that offer superior quality and value.
In conclusion, while Makani Restaurant has garnered acclaim, my personal experience suggests that it may not live up to the hype. I would recommend exploring other dining establishments in Aswan that provide a more satisfying and...

Read moreJust a tiny bit shy of 5 stars in my opinion because some basics could have been done better. Considering the surrounding options though this place is a definite must have! It was recommended by my hotel and now I know why - - definitely a tourist friendly site with a beautiful view of the Nile.
Highly recommend the Makani burger which is their signature chicken sandwich and definitely the highlight of our meal. My wife and I had the mojito mint non-alcoholic sodas and although a bit sweet I thought it was very refreshing. The Wings Roulette were tasty but lacked crunch. The fries were a definite miss. Cold, soggy... Not even sure what they were trying to do with those potatoes. Unfortunately we didn't even touch them.
And no, they don't serve alcohol. As most places do not in a mainly Muslim country so best bet is your hotel or just have some delicious non-alcoholic drinks and enjoy...
