Nubian Dreams Restaurant & Cafe — Restaurant in Elephantine Island

I had an incredible experience at Nubian Dreams Restaurant & Cafe. I ordered the camel dish, which was absolutely delicious—flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. It was a true taste of local tradition.

What truly made the visit special was the service. Mostafa, who attended to me, was not only attentive and professional but also a great connoisseur of traditional Nubian cuisine. He made sure I had a wonderful experience and even took the time to share stories and tips about the island’s tourist spots, adding a personal and cultural touch to the meal.

The location of the restaurant is simply magical. Perched on a height overlooking the Nile River, it offers a breathtaking view, especially at sunset. It’s conveniently located right next to the boat terminal, which makes it very accessible for travelers.

We stayed at the movenpick hotel and took a private boat to Nubian dream based on reviews we had seen online. We wanted authentic local Nubian food as our last meal in Egypt over hotel food and Nubian Dreams did not disappoint. We asked for all our dishes to be spicy and the spice level in all of the tagines were perfect. I got the chicken tagine and loved it. It was hands down the best meal I’ve had in Egypt. Everything was home cooked and prepared with love. My husband got the camel meat tagine and it was very tender compared to previous camel meat he had. You have to try the Nubian Jabana Coffee. It's coffee with ginger and cinamon and it's absolutely delicious (but don't do it without sugar, it's not that great x)) also Nubian breakfast is must! All meal is home cooked, it takes a while, but it's defintely worth to wait. It has everything in one spot.
