I spent 3 weeks here and had a perfectly good time. Like most of the hotels of this calibre it's fine. It's not a 5 star western hotel, but that's not what you're paying for. The staff are always happy to help and are friendly (Especially Osama, the restaurant manager). I booked an single standard garden view room. My room was ok. It was clean and tidy with 2 single beds, a fridge, a flat screen TV (although only 1 English channels but this channel had no sound). It also has a safe in the wardrobe. The shower was ok but you couldn't really change the angle of spray. The garden view for my room was actually the 3rd floor courtyard area, so if you have your curtains open people walking past can look right inside your room. When I arrived I didn't have a TV remote, but I asked at reception and one was provided very quickly. Unfortunately the cleaning crew sometimes come to clean the room quite late (5ish) so sometimes you're in there when they are cleaning it, and they are not great at changing the toilet rolls or the shampoo and little soaps. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the Restaurant by the pool. I only had Breakfast and Dinner included in my rate. This gets you the food but no drinks, except water, or coffee in the mornings. Taste and quality wise, I thought the food was pretty good. The pool area is quite nice. Although you do get the sun bed crazies, who get up early and put their towel on a sun bed (I think that's selfish, but what can the hotel do!?) In January the sun disappears from the pool at about 4pm. You have access to a private beach. You need to get a voucher from the security guard at the hotel. It's the Kanabesh beach which is ok but you can also use the Viva Beach & Restaurant with the voucher (see Google maps for location), which I think is nicer. Once you're on the beach you can freely walk along most of the Naama Bay beach irrespective of whose beach it is. At least until the Novotel beach where there are big white metal gates stopping you going any further. All in all I had a good stay at Falcon Naama Star Hotel.

Pros - staff. All really nice, Osama the manager is very attentive and is always on hand to help. Location is good. Beds are comfy. Everything is very clean. Cons - food is not great. Most of the time it's poor but sometimes there is something ok. Drinks - no draught drinks, all from bottles. This includes beer. Try to avoid the shops in the hotel - super pushy. Wifi - appalling. I couldn't even load Ookla to do a speed check! Breakfast (which is ok, egg station is good) is 7-9.30, I'm on holiday I don't want to eat that early. There should be an option for late risers, there is nothing available from 9.30 - 1pm. This time of year (Jan) no one seems to serve breakfast so have to starve until lunch. Also, lunch is awful, so bad that we go out for lunch. If you want a lay in (you're on holiday after all), no chance. The animation team play LOUD horrific music from 9.45am. They then dance and prance about with no interest from the guests. Totally pointless and intrusive. Update:- I've since spoken to Osama and he has assisted with a few issues. He explained the drinks and let us try loads until we found something good, which we did. Food, be said if we don't like anything just say and he'll arrange for other items to be cooked. Same with snacks in the day. He's really a genuinely nice person who wants all guests to be happy.

We stayed here for a week and although it was clean and nicely decorated in the main communal areas, the bedrooms need some updating and maintenance. The sink in our bathroom had a slow leak underneath which caused the tile floor to become a slip hazard. The downsides were the food - lacking in flavour, seasoning and variety. The bar - we booked all inclusive and we're informed that the time limtations on alcohol were 12-12 which wasn't a problem yet each day they changed the rules and times which was very frustrating. Araf, the food and beverage manager was always very accommodating but if he wasn't around we had to argue with the bar staff. The upsides are the lovely pool, very clean and a good amount of sun beds and the staff. The staff (except for certain bar staff) are very attentive and accommodating, obviously they want tips but they also genuinely seem like they want you to have a good holiday. They were friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. If you need an excursion I'd highly recommend Mohammed who man's the excursion desk with the main reception area. All in all I would go back and stay there again.

Staying at this hotel was the biggest regret of our holiday. What we experienced at Falcon Naama Star Hotel, where we were lured by the "all-inclusive" deception, was, in the truest sense of the word, a disappointment. If you don't want to waste your money and nerves, pay attention to this review. Room and Cleanliness: Zero Hygiene, Comfort Below Zero! We were shocked when we first stepped into the room. There wasn't a single towel or slipper. A hotel incapable of meeting even basic needs. When we informed the staff, they demanded an extra $10 for a towel, with an air of doing us a favour! Yes, you heard right, $10 for a simple towel! The sheets and pillowcases were stained; it made us sick to our stomachs. Despite hanging the "housekeeping" tag on the door, our room was NEVER cleaned throughout our stay. The room was already falling apart, the furniture old and shabby. In the closet, as if to mock us, there were a grand total of 3 flimsy hangers that were useless. The curtains looked as if they'd been ripped from storage and hastily put up; they barely closed, didn't darken the room properly at all, and didn't block out the light from outside. Furthermore, none of the amenities shown in the hotel's promotional pictures, like a kettle, cups, tea, coffee, or any refreshments, were present in the room. Don't be fooled by the pictures!

Staff: Rude, Indifferent, and Sullen! The employees had absolutely nothing to do with hospitality. They were all extremely rude, sullen, and never willing to help. When you asked a question, you were either snapped at or ignored. It was only a matter of time before you felt like an unwelcome guest. The receptionist, in particular, was incredibly rude, speaking to us in a manner as if he was about to beat us up.

Food: A Total Disaster! It was the worst hotel food I've ever eaten in my life. Everything was bitter and made with unidentifiable, heavy spices. It definitely didn't suit our taste; in fact, it's fair to say we couldn't eat it. What they called "waffles" at snack time was some strange, chocolate-bread-like concoction from someone who clearly didn't know how to make waffles. The desserts at the open buffet were a complete fiasco; it was obvious from every bite that the cheapest, lowest-quality ingredients were used. Even though we were on an "all-inclusive" concept, the open buffet was also terrible; it was impossible to find any decent fruit or much else.

Pool: We Didn't Dare to Enter! Even the pool, which we thought might be the one place we could enjoy ourselves (a little bit), was a complete disappointment. The water was so murky, dirty, and unkempt that we didn't even dare to go in. The mossy, broken tiles around the edges and the general filth showed no sign of hygiene. Not being able to use the pool at a place where we supposedly came for a holiday was a major drawback.

Extra Charges and Deceptive Information: Robbery at Every Step! An extra fee was even demanded for a beach towel! It's unacceptable for this service, which is usually offered free of charge at other hotels, to be paid for here. Although their website said "airport transfer available," they asked for $20 when we inquired about this service at the hotel. However, much better transfer services are available on Booking.com for just $7, for up to 4 people with 3 suitcases. This is completely misleading the customer!

We had chosen the "all-inclusive" package, and it was stated that a free welcome drink was included. After check-in, forget a welcome drink, they didn't even bring us a glass of water. (When we later stayed at another hotel of the same level, where we weren't on an "all-inclusive" package, and they offered us water and drinks at check-in, we understood once again how bad this hotel was.)

Internet: As Good as Non-Existent! The internet speed was 0.5 Mbps! Like a joke! Offering internet at this speed in this day and age is making a mockery of guests. I tried to watch a YouTube video in 144p resolution; my eyes were going to be ruined, and even that...
