30 years ago, it may have been a 5 star hotel; today, it's barely a 3 star. Where do I begin. The executive room we booked was full of mould in the bathroom, had grout all over the tiles and the whole room was just in a very bad condition (cracked tiles etc.) (see photos). We complained about it and a member of staff came and said he was going to clean it! I proceeded to explain that the issue wasn't dirt and that it was the state of the room but he ignored the comment and proceeded to brush the mould away, which spread all over the floor. For about 40 minutes, we were going up and down to reception and back to try and get our point across and get an update. We specifically paid extra money to have the superior room, so expected something 'superiorg' (oh the irony). We eventually got moved to another room, arguably better but which was still in the same appalling state. After all this, I called the reception to ask for the Wi-Fi password and I was told that the Wi-Fi system was down and that it would be fixed at some point in the next 3 days (7 days in, the Wi-Fi was still not working). Needless to say, this very bad condition is apparent throughout the whole hotel, not just the rooms - it looks like something which was once a big thing and which has now been abandoned and is slowly but steadily falling apart (again, see photos).
Water: On day 2, whilst having a shower, the water just stopped completely and after reporting to reception, they said they were aware and would fix it. 10 minutes later, I was still standing in the shower with shampoo on my hair waiting for the water to be fixed.
Food: Where do I begin. Having tested all the restaurants of the hotel (to give the benefit of the doubt), I can confidently say it's one of the worst (if not the worst) all inclusive buffets I've paid for. The quality of the food was appalling and it was clear that a lot of the stuff was being reused a day or 2 later (including things like dry chicken). The variety was poor with the same dishes out every day.
Private beach: This is a tiny space 5 minutes away from the hotel, with way too many sunbeds for its size and with mininal space to swim. There is no way in a million years this can accommodate for the size of the hotel; it is merely a way for the hotel to claim it has a private beach. The whole place just seems like someone came along and put sunbeds and ropes down to try and make as much money as possible.
Gym: First of all, I certainly wouldn't call it a "gym". It is a tiny space in a basement, consisting of 2 treadmills and 2 machines in a bad condition. The 'gym' doesn't open until 10am which is very inconvenient if you want to get your exercise done before starting your day.
Toilet paper: I can't even count the amount of times I asked for toilet paper to be added to the various toilets across the hotel. Literally none of the toilets anywhere ever had any toilet paper, to the point people had to walk around holding their own! Ridiculous!
Noise: The noise from the nearby bars and restaurants can be very clearly heard until early hours of the morning. It's like being in a club in your own room, every single night. Same with sound insulation between rooms and even the corridor. You can hear the tiniest sound from outside or the adject room, such as a sneeze or plugging a device to charge.
Lifts: Half of the hotel lifts weren't working and the ones that were, made you question whether you'll make it to the other side or not (again, see photos). Half the buttons were broken and the other half worked whenever they decided to. I won't even get into the details of how filthy they were.
It is absolutely appalling that someone can claim this to be a 5 star hotel and can claim the corresponding prices for it. It is simply not the 90s anymore, when Naama Bay Resort may have been a big hit. It is now a derelict slowly falling apart.
Absolutely would not recommend and it is safe to say I will never...

Read moreI wanted to add some words around our vacation and hope they will be used to address some of the issues we had whilst we on holiday. First, I want to cover the very bad, not so good experiences we had – WIFI – We had already done our reviews and due diligence on the poor WIFI connection you have in you Hotel, we were well aware of this. However, we were told by your staff at reception that if we paid 10$ per room (SHOCKING!!!) which we did then we would have a good signal in our room. That was NOT the case, and after spending $20 dollars we were extremely disappointed, why did you take our money, knowing that there WIFI was useless? See screenshot, this is the Lobby WIFI just look at the pathetic speed of 19Mbs, this is totally disgraceful. You are sharing 19Mbs with all your guests? What kind of internet speed is this? You cannot even read the news or make any WhatsApp or Viber calls, really, I am very disappointed with this when most of Europe offer FREE WIFI and a decent speed Hotels. I don’t see how you can call yourself 5 Star Hotel when you have a Internet speed and connection (Only in the Lobby) which is not fit for purpose. My advice to holiday makers is bear this in mind when booking this Hotel, if you have any small children or need to do some basic work, where you require WIFI then you can forget it, it will NEVER work!
The good experiences – Its only fair to also give positive experiences too, we had a absolutely, amazing holiday and enjoyed every minute apart from the above points. 1.The Hotel is very clean, and our room was very clean, and was cleaned on a daily basis. Well done! 2.The choice of food is vast, fresh and caters for meat and vegetarians and an immense choice of deserts and plentiful supply. 3.The Hotel has a number of bars which are all very well presented. 4.The Hotel has a customer liaison contact in the reception Lobby area, they were very helpful and spoke very good English. They were very pro-active and quick to respond to our queries and concerns. We want to thank Victoria (From Ukraine) she was very helpful and very intuitive and positive to help us when she could. Well done, Victoria!!! Victoria, I have attached photos of us, hope you like them. 5.We also met a lovely lady called Liza – Animation/Entertainment team, actually from my Wife’s home Country Belarus, she too was amazing and very helpful and always at hand to help us. Well done, Liza! I have attached photos of us, hope you like them. The hotel main pool area and the service we received there was very good, we were made welcomed and the best part was we did not even have to ask for a drink, they came to us which is a very nice experience, and our drinks were always refilled. Great service from the pool side barman, good job!! 6.Finally want to express our gratitude and thanks to “AHMAD YASSEIN” he really shone through, he was very receptive and always had a wonderful big smile, impeccably dressed in the Hotel uniform, and we could see he really loves his job. Every time we met him, he went out of his way to greet us, with a smile and we have become very good friends and hope one day he will come to us in London – United Kingdom. If you are a manager and reading this, you really should give AHMAD YASSEIN a pay rise and career advancement. This is the person ALL your staff should learn from; he has amazing Customer experience, and people like him that makes us want to come back time and time again to the Hotel and Egypt. I want to say, we love you and you are the best AHMAD, keep up the superb work your doing, and NEVER lose that...
