Me and my partner booked to stay here for a break/holiday from everyday life. We arrived at the hotel at 06:30am and got told we couldn’t check in until 14:00 which we both understood. As we were both knackered from travelling since 17:00 the previous night we stayed in reception and rested. 3 hours later a member of staff said our room was ready and then said me and my partner could have either a standard or deluxe room to which we responded saying the standard room was okay. The one member of staff said to go look at both the choices and then another member of staff took us to see both rooms. We then came back and said the standard room was okay for us and they insists we go for the deluxe room. I said I wanted the standard room as I knew if I chose the deluxe they’d ask for a fee. Both the 2 members of staff on reception then kept going on saying to have the deluxe room so I said okay because me and my partner just wanted to sleep and rest and they weren’t letting us choose the standard one and didn’t give us a choice. The one staff member said to pay £50,000 EGP for the upgrade and I said no and then they said you chose so I just said £7,000 EGP for the 10 nights. I went to pay in reception and they said that we should pay in the room which I thought was strange. One of the staff members took us to the deluxe room and sat me down and said to pay now so I gave him the money. He said that if anyone asked me and my partner , that our upgrade was free and that if we said anything about the money we paid him that bad things would happen to me and my partner and this was threatening. He left the room after that. We both went to go to sleep and he came back banging on the door and then started pulling the handle on the door. I opened the door and he walked into the room and gave us both bracelets for our breakfast the following morning. We were both very anxious, nervous and felt in danger because of how they treated us so we left on that exact evening. We booked a taxi from reception to the airport and the guy who threatened us took us to the taxi and we then left and went to a different country to enjoy the rest of our holiday. All in all I do not recommend this hotel at all , we didn’t get to experience the area , food, swimming pool, and the room so we can’t comment on how that would be but the two staff members who made us uncomfortable and coerced both me and my partner were disgusting, and rude and will make you uncomfortable. We got our hotel refunded which was good but was a hassle to sort out. Definitely...

Read moreI has a very bad experience living at Cataract Laylina hotel.||||When I got there, My room was filthy (the Very dirty toilet hadn't been cleaned and there was no water in my room). ||The hotelstaff were nice enough to give me another room (even though I told them that they only had to clean the toilet, but after that episode on my first night, those same staffmembers were quite hostile. Besides there aren't any papers/lists/books at the hotel on where you would find informations about the hotel, checkouttimes, restaurant opening and closing times ect. And when I asked the staff a couple of questions, it ws really hard to find someone who understood my basic questions or who knew the answers.||||Nobody from the staff knew how to speak proper english. I tried to order som water and I made sure to be Very friendly after that first episode. It took them 30 min. and several discussions to understand what I asked for, and again, by then, they had gotten quite annoyed with me. ||||The food at the hotel wasn't very good either, and several other guests complained about it as well. Also a lot of things were missing, fx. there was cornflakes ect. but no milk, there was bread but no butter, they didn't have any small spoons for egg's or yoghurt.||||Regarding the sleep you would like to get on your vacation, The hotel hosts some music-entertainmentshow every night, and they play insanely loud music untill 23pm, and afterwards the music continues coming from the street to at least 3am every night. If you decide to stay at this hotel, bring your earplugs!!||||Last but not least, the Wifi is only available if you stay at the reception (unless you oay extra for the pool and lounge), and if you make any friends in Sharm, they are not allowed to come into the hotel at all (not even to join you for dinner, wich they will have to pay for). ||||Oh and yeah, I am a girl, and I felt very uncomfortable staying at the hotel because all the male staff (there is not even one single woman working at the hotel) were staring at you, wanting to your name and even get your number. It is the same out on the streets of Sharm El Sheikh, but when you are "at home" at your hotel, a break from the constant approaches would have been really nice. ||||||All in all, I would definitely Not recommend staying at this hotel with the...
