As a Gold Member who has frequented many Club Med resorts over the years, I’ve always trusted this brand to deliver excellent experiences. Sadly, my recent visit to Club Med Tignes has left me seriously reconsidering my loyalty. It feels like everything that made Club Med special is falling apart.
The Negatives:
Airport Transfer Chaos: I paid for an airport transfer, yet I ended up waiting 45 minutes to be picked up. This was unacceptable, especially given the premium price.
The hotel is really cold. There is heating in the rooms, but according to reception, the system is set to a specific temperature in which you can't change. So if you feel the room is too cold there is nothing you can do, just wear a bigger jacket. To make matters worse, the towel warmer in the bathroom works for only one hour every day in the morning. Coming back from skiing to a cold room was miserable.
Terrible Amenities: The quality of the toilet paper provided is shockingly bad and the beds are single beds put together to make a double bed, making a hole in the middle where you can't sleep. Be prepared to sleep alone on your side of the bed. For a brand that prides itself on luxury, this is an appalling oversight.
Disorganized Activities: Registering online for classes only to find my name wasn’t on the list. It’s as if the resort’s systems are completely disorganized
Decline in Food Quality: Year after year, the food is getting worse and cheaper. The soup and other dishes were consistently lukewarm, and the overall dining experience felt subpar compared to previous Club Med standards.
At check out we noticed a wine bottle which was apparently consumed at their gourmet restaurant has been added to our bill. Cancelling it took around 20 min and a lot of talking from my side to convince them i didn't order the bottle. With a simple check in their camera they could have checked this out and avoided this embarrassing situation.
The Positive:
Ski in ski out, many lifts to choose within a minute walk.
The ski instructors are very nice and professional.
The dedication, commitment and excellence of all frontline employees were truly remarkable, while the leadership team was nothing extraordinary. Special Thanks for Jonas, Joana, Julien, Marlon, Camila, Bia, Fernanda e Douglas who helped me having a great time despite all the issues.
Final Thoughts: This was not the Club Med experience I was expecting. Between the freezing hotel, disorganized services, and declining quality of food and hospitality, my trust in the brand has been deeply shaken. For now, I cannot recommend this resort and am seriously considering other vacation options...
Read moreWe stayed at Club Med Tignes with high expectations for a 4-star experience, but unfortunately, several aspects fell short of our expectations.||||Food & Dining:||Vegetarians beware – the options are limited, and meal variety is lacking. Dishes come back again and again, sometimes repurposed from previous meals. The restaurant also wasn’t cleaned thoroughly in the mornings, so breakfast often meant sitting among crumbs from the night before.||||Bar & Service:||The bartenders were friendly but seemed inexperienced – we often received incorrect drinks (wrong ingredients, or poorly made). Overall, the GOs were kind and eager to help, but many didn’t seem well-trained or informed. Basic questions about ski passes or transportation went unanswered, and no one warned us that the road would be closed on our departure day – something a 4-star hotel should flag to guests in advance.||||Rooms:||Our room was comfortable, with good storage, but relatively small. The balcony overlooked a gravel roof. Noise insulation was poor – leaving the window open meant hearing the conversations of neighbours. The floor of the room wasn’t cleaned often during our stay.||||Facilities:||The gym was frankly a joke – far too small for the hotel's size, always overcrowded, and often completely out of available equipment. I had to find corners to stretch and kept moving around to avoid getting in others’ way. On the bright side, the 25-meter pool was a real plus.||||Positives:||The GOs were warm, live music was enjoyable, and the Mini Club was well run. The location is excellent for skiing.||||Conclusion:||While there are some genuinely nice aspects to Club Med Tignes, too many shortcomings – from food to service to facilities – made this feel more like a 3-star experience at best. With better training, attention to cleanliness, and a focus on consistent service quality, it could live up to its price point. Until then, it...
Read moreJust returned from our 3rd Club Med experience, each one as fabulous as the one before! We are a group of 18 (getting larger each year) We range from 70 to 10 years of age. The hotel is stunning in every aspect and earns every one of its stars imo. This one is located in the town, which we actually preferred. Location is directly outside the ski lifts but unlike the other resorts we have stayed at its flat so expect a bit of ski walking to get started and finish your day. The food & drink options are excellent-choice, quality, diversity & availability all meet and exceed expectations. Staff are very friendly, rooms are cleaned regularly and housekeeping are very attentive if required. The hotel is spotless in all areas. The ski lessons from ESF were once again exceptional with particular thanks the Jeremy and Jerome who we felt were the best instructors we have had over the years. Top Tip for this resort is to hire your ski equipment, if required, from the town at a fraction of the price charged by Club Med. The Sothys spa is beautiful and several of our group enjoyed a very welcome luxurious massage. Our only negative points are firstly that the evening entertainment for 40/50 somethings is limited, we stayed in the restaurant after our meal as the main area is taken over by (very) loud music after the evening shows have finished with a young clientele and secondly the outside pool /hot tub and Pilates advertised and used daily on previous years were not available. This was particularly disappointing for members of our group that do not ski and had planned to use this daily. The hot tub was located in a fabulous location looking into the slopes so it was a huge surprise and disappointment that it was covered & not available in April. We really missed this. Overall a superb holiday and the best location we have visited. Already...
