Highly recommend this chalet. The hotel itself is very cute from the outside, the views are tremendous of the mountains, the garden is gorgeous to sit in and chat with everyone, the rooms are comfortable and clean, it’s a very short walk into town and conveniently located.||We had both breakfast and dinner and highly recommend each. Dinner started with a delicious gazpacho, the main course during our stay was a cheese dish, which is a cross between fondue and raclette, where we had our own small wheel of cheese, baked and served with potatoes, charcuterie, bread, and pickles. And it was finished off with a delicious ice cream type dessert.||We came here as part of our tour de Mont Blanc trip. We were on a short version of the TMB and our first day of hiking finished here. The downhill to get here when traveling counterclockwise was significant and it created concern for a number of guests staying there. The hostess was gracious to arrange a shuttle to take us to the next location because the next leg into Les Chapieux, has a lot of descent. This apparently is an issue daily. She regularly has guests who want to opt out of the next leg. It cost us €280 for a van which was split among five...
Read moreThis hotel truly deserves 6 out of 5 stars — it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.||From the moment we arrived, the welcome was outstanding. We were greeted personally by the owner, who took time to explain the local area, tell us about the hotel, and even ask about our trip. It felt warm, genuine, and set the tone for a wonderful stay.||Our room was perfect: spotlessly clean, comfortable, and complete with a small balcony overlooking the valley, with breathtaking views up into the mountains.||Dinner in the hotel was a real highlight. The set menu featured hearty local dishes — soup, baked cheese with meats, potatoes and salad, followed by apple pie — all of which were delicious. We also tried local wine and a regional liqueur, both fantastic. Breakfast the next morning was just as good, with a generous buffet spread that set us up perfectly for the day.||Everything about our stay was amazing — the hospitality, the food, the setting, and the overall atmosphere. Chalet Hotel Gai Soleil is an absolute gem, and I’d recommend it to anyone...
Read moreStayed here on the first day of our shortened Tour du Mont Blanc. Had hiked about 6hrs with my wife and carrying 2 year old daughter, and Chalet-Hotel Gai Soleil was the best thing one could ask for. ||Place itself is wonderful. A very nice outdoor terrace area to chill. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Toilet was extremely spacious. A baby cot was provided. ||The owners were super warm and friendly and made us feel so welcome. Truly exceptional. They went beyond expectations to make our stay pretty much perfect. ||Location was close to restaurants and Carrefour supermarket. And just up the slope from the hotel is a bus stop for the free local shuttle that would help save 1hr of Tour du Mont Blanc to Les Chapieux which is a long and tough day hence very useful. ||Fully...
