An Excellent stay has become Average. I will explain why.|We just had a really special family week in Les Contamines. We is myself, my wife and two daughters. We loved staying in Chalet Ptou (not the B&B) and loved the village and the skiing. It was our daughters' first ski holiday. When we left, having parted on good terms with Sabrina, we wrote her a gushing review on AirBNB, saying how kind and helpful she was and what a wonderful holiday we had had. To our amazement Sabrina did not feel the same. Apparently when we departed, we had forgotten some "papers on the floor", crumbs on the table cloth and not washed up properly. Now it up for debate whether any of these crimes are true but surely when leaving a commercial AirBNB, where you pay a cleaning fee, there can be a bit of tolerance for some "mess". We emptied the bins taking them to local waste point but apparently didnt strip the beds (no one actually told us to do this and infact normally we do). We left washed glasses drying by the sink but didnt put them in the cupboard (because they were wet). One of my daughter's left a bowl under the bed and the other left some chewing gum in her room. We scanned the girl's room thoroughly before we left but missed these bits of "mess". In 10 years we have never had a complaint from anyone on AirBNB. So some advice before booking an Airbnb (particularly Sabrina's) where you are often paying a considerable cleaning fee, make sure you understand whether they want you to actually clean the chalet (property) for them before you leave. I dont believe restoring cleanliness to the standards of the host of a commercial (unlived in ) rental is our responsibility. We will do our best, while packing and getting kids ready, to make it as tidy as possible. |Sabrina actually shamed us on AirBNB by writing a public review saying our lovely young family were messy, leaving croissant crumbs on the tablecloth and some tissues on the floor. How disgraceful of us!! AIRBNB versus a hotel. If having paid over £1000 to a hotel would they feel justified writing a public shaming review if you left your room a bit messy. We are respectul well behaved clients. WE had even planned to go back to Les Contamines next winter. Its a shame we have been left with this...

Read moreWe got our room with the help from Valerie and so lucky we found this place to stay at such last minute. Highly recommended to all for future stay in Les Contamines:||- Perfect location (close to main street with all the restaurants and shops), grocery store close by||- Modern and clean room with lots of space, best washroom we got throughout our vacation||- Nice patio for chilling out and some sun||- Great cozy breakfast with FRESH orange juice and bakery||- Lovely host Sabrina who has been really helpful!!||||Only one minor comment: the bedsheets can be updated as it's a bit rough in contrast to the soft and silky duvet sheets.||||Highly recommended place to stay in...
