Great camping and good value. My friend and I used this camping to visit ths D-Day beaches and some of the US Airborne Army battles in the Corentin peninsula. It proved to be a good choice; 15 minutes drive away from Utah Beach and 1 hour from Pegasus Bridge. The clientele were all respectful and discreet whether they were couples or families. The camping is family friendly but lacks things like a swimming pool or kids club, so seems to attract responsible parents who want to spend time with their children, rather than outsource responsibility to others. We therefore enjoyed a peaceful experience. The washblock was always clean and, due to it’s size, was never overcrowded. The individual camping plots are generous (80-100m2 each) and are often divided by hedges or bushes ensuring good social distancing. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful service at reception. A very short walk into St Mère Église, but beware; it is hard to find good service and value in the shops and restaurants; the village is a tourist trap. The Airborne Museum is a...
Read moreAfter a very long day in the motorhome, we arrived in St Mere Eglise, to see the church. Was late in the evening and I was shattered from all the driving. We looked for a park up, and were heading for the aire on the side of the road which was a paid for park up but no water/ waste facilities, but saw the sign for the camp site. so drove up hoping to get water. We were met by a lovely man, who advised they were closed for the night, but there were spaces, We were told to pick a pitch and pay in the morning. We could get water in the morning, but were free to use all the facilities. An absolute god send at that time of the evening.||We parked up, and were thinking about what to do for food when we realised there was a food van there. We had the most wonderful burgers, and a beer.||The facilities were clean and tidy. There was sinks for washing dishes and laundry facilities. The showers were warm and clean.||A fantastic site and one we...
Read moreWe have been visiting this campsite for over 30 years and it has improved so much since being taken over a few years ago by a private company. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the toilet block has been extensively renovated and the potholes on the road around the site have been filled in. The pitches are a great size - sorry I damaged one of your apple trees turning in too quickly on to my pitch and taking off our tv ariel on the caravan. Purely my fault. I would highly recommend the campsite- this year we booked as we weren't sure what time we would arrive and they rang us back to ask which pitch would suit us best. Great customer service. Thank you and hope we'll be back again in...
