Our family has booked a hotel room at this place a year in advance personally by the front desk with great happiness to come back again.
We came here for the first time roughly 20 years ago with good memories every single summer vacation.
Our recent trip was our last one for good though.
Starting from a week before the check-in of ours, we have made a phone call asking whether our reservation was still relayed within the system. The lady at the front desk firstly harshly responded with a "You have booked your vacation but you dont know for when??". As someone who is working for a 4* hotel for several years, such response was not only shocking but straight up rude for me to hear. Her judging manner made her forget about the date and name which I had mentioned three times by then. After once again repeating myself and stunning 6min, I finally had my question answered with a "yes, you have reserved for a person and a little dog". Great, good to hear.
When arriving with our family though, there was a commotion because in the end we had two persons in total with us but without a dog. The front desk staff alone was overwhelmed with the situation and treated us very poorly as result.
The final invoice was printed in french, hard to understand for tourists and no explanation was given. In the end by the check-out, the lady at the front desk proceeded to threaten us with "next time you will get a single room where a second person wouldnt fit" followed by a "you could have gone to the housekeeping yourself if you needed additional blankets or towels, that is your fault."
For the price you pay the customer service is very poorly.
I would not recommend this inflexible hotel to anybody. People that do not work within this business do not see their options, recommending a simple "in case you need any additions for the second person please let us know" after having found a solution to the inconvenient situation, would have sufficed. Even a 3* Hotel with such long experience and history should know such a thing, blaming your guests is only an embarrassing excuse to this.
Even if we do understand the difficult situation during check-in in the beginning, we hope that you can deal with such situations better in future. Such things simply can happen and shouldnt be to blame of anyone.
EDIT: They contacted me, explained the person to blame for is in holidays and afterwards ignored me and never messaged me back about this matter even after following-up. Beyond rude and incompetent staff. -...
Read moreI was a returning client and after this experience I will absolutely NOT return NOR recommend this hotel.
Unfortunately we were very disappointed that we were persuaded to book a more expensive room, with the excuse that we had bicycles, which would have fitted in a normal room, only to make us pay more and give us a room which is a complete failure. Indeed, the room on the ground floor was a complete disappointment, no wonder it was not advertised because I believe it was not liveable yet, but somehow your staff felt to earn from it just the same. It was absolutely noisy, I do not know if it was the walls themselves, or the door or the hall, but the noise felt even echoed, it was really disturbing, we were woken up about AT 5:30 AM by the incredibly loud noise made by the kitchen staff and waiters, plates and cutlery being repeatedly banged together and hotel staff walking with heels along the corridor repeatedly and banging the room between rooms and reception. All of this noise continued until almost 7am, it has been a nightmare.
Also this room, which was clearly made for people with wheelchair, was somehow more expensive (so wheelchair users are more prone to pay much more than the others - at least 30 euros more per night in low season) but was completely bare. It had no shower door or glass walls, no towel hangers, no bathroom wardrobe, the TV had no smart features, the window electric shutter did not work. A complete rip off and scam. Also the wifi was not working, my devises could not even stay connected for more than 5 minutes. Breakfast was nothing special, eggs were tasteless, hams looked expired, no express food/drinks such as eggs or cappuccinos, only with a machine.
Furthermore, woman at reception with long grey hair was somehow...
Read moreWe had a lovely stay at Hôtel Des Orangers in Cannes. It is in a great location, a short walk into Le Suquet, the old town which is so quaint with little cobbled streets and lots of bars and restaurants. It is a little bit further to walk to La Croisette the main beach area. Our room was very nice and clean. The beds were really comfy and there were tea and coffee making facilities which was nice. The rooms were cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels which we were very impressed with. The room and bathroom were a bit small and we were disappointed that we didn't have a balcony. There weren't enough coat hangers for two people and no milk for the tea and coffee. The safe was hard to use as there weren't any instructions with it so we didn't end up using it. There wasn't a window in the bathroom so when we had a shower it became a bit steamy. The pool area was lovely with lots of comfy sun loungers and it was never too busy, just nice and relaxing. There was a good choice at the breakfast buffet and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem when we couldn't get into the safe but the staff sorted it out straight away. I was disappointed that I couldn't get my Best Western points as we hadn't booked the hotel through the website as that was one of the reasons that we had chosen this hotel. Overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel and would definitely...
