Cannes is very mellow compared to Monaco. Monte Carlo is very crowded and except for the excellent maritime museum and aquarium I would give Monaco and Monte Carlo (a district within Monaco) a pass. Too many cars too many tourists all glitz and no glamour. Cannes has nice beaches and while there are tourist like myself everywhere, it is more authentic. People here are friendly and open.
