One of the worst places I have ever stayed at and I would not recommend staying here.
Liked · Unfortunately not much to mention here, but being able to keep our luggage in the luggage store room was somewhat a positive thing.
Disliked · When we've arrived the receptionist kindly offered to upgrade us to a private room with a double bed but they also asked if preferred 2 single beds (which we thought it'd be in a private room also) and when we said we'd appreciate having a private room, if there is an option to choose, we'd take the single beds over a double one. They must've misunderstood because we were given 2 bunk beds in a 4 bed dorm and the beds were just too small/short. We both ended up with some joint pains after the first night and it hasn't changed by the end of our stay. The room wasn't up to the desired standard of cleanliness, there were big marks/spots on the carpet, however, cleaners were seen hoovering the room (at least once) during our 3 days stay. During the check in, we were told that the hostel won't provide towels or any locks/lockers so we had to keep our luggage and valuables in the store room which was located in the basement eating/laundry area. If you are not first, you won't have a locker to keep your stuff in. Also bring a lock because we were specifically told that they don't provide one. The bathroom looked somewhat clean but when we turned on the hairdryer it started releasing some smoke so we decided leave it. The kitchen was in an very poor state; dirty, no cutlery (only 2 knives) or decent cooking equipment. A piece of kitchen towel has been on the floor for the whole time we'd stayed, noone seemed to care to remove it. There was no kitchen towel, paper or textile, to wipe the dishes/our hands and when asked for, at least, a fork and a spoon, the the receptionist said something about them belonging to the hotel (?) and we were specifically told that they must be returned. The breakfast was just ridiculous; day 1 2 mini croissants and a quarter of a baguette with 2 small butters and a splash of jam and on day 2 & 3, only 2 tiny pieces of baguettes with the butter and jam. Didn't expect a 4 course meal but maybe a piece of cheese or some ham...
Read moreEDIT: —Replying because you are lying in your response Although it doesn’t matter if the man in our room was of any particular race or age, that he was a man in our ‘female’ room is the point. However, he wasn’t a young Japanese student, he was an older man, and we heard him talking on the phone to his kids saying he was on a business trip, so perhaps you are thinking about another man who was squeezed into a women’s room this weekend?? Concerning. We didn’t tell the receptionist it was no problem, no one told us he was staying in the room and we woke in the morning to him there, and when we asked at the desk if he was in the right room they looked shocked and said it must have been a mistake. Furthermore, I don’t think it is all that amazing that you placed me and my friend in a room together when we booked together under one name, to me that seems the minimum effort required. Just want to make clear to other young female travellers the situation —
Don’t stay here! I understand that staying in a hostel isn’t always comfortable and had realistic expectations, however this place was pretty bad Firstly one level was under construction, which it seemed to have been for a long time. Our room was fine, beds were comfortable. The power point in mine didn’t work. There are a few important things to note! As young women, we booked into the women only dorm - however on our second morning we woke up to a man who had been given a bed in our (small) room. this was very unsettling. The staff explained it was a mistake, but other reviews seem to suggest it happens a bit. Another thing to note, as a young person staying in a hostel, there is a 2 am curfew, which was not explained to us. On the HostelWorld app it said the desk closed at 3am. So we got home at 2:30, and were just lucky that a staff member let us in. He was angry at us for being late, while we tried to explain the information online was different. This was seperate to the general run down and uncleanliness of the place. Also after a bed had been remade in our room the door was left unlocked, with all our stuff inside. Would...

Luggage storage is offered but can only be accessed by a card. Which is okay but to get the card you need to check in. This can only be done after 15:00. Reception isn't "staffed" after 13:00. So if you arrive before 13:00 you can't make use of the luggage storage.
The receptionist doesn't speak English so that isn't very helpful.
There are a lot of power outlets in the common room where only a quarter seem to work. Not much to do in the common room. There is a fridge, water cooker, microwave, a key locked toilet and a card locked luggage storage. There is also no signage where the common room is. So for your information it is in the basement.
Time for the room! The bed was rather okay and surprisingly thick for a hostel. I have had much worse. The pillow was also rather okay. The bed was rather small for somebody who is 185cm. The bed is incredibly installed and very secure against the roof. There is no movement when entering the bed. Solid curtains for privacy.
That was a lot of positivity for this place so let's focus on the negatives again! The room had a smoke detector. Which is great! However, it was wrapped in plastic so it won't work in case of emergencies... The room was cold and only a fleece cover is provided. I had to sleep with my winter jacket over me to stay warm throughout the night.
The bathroom was sad. Tiles were broken and even missing. It was a bath shower. But the plug was gone so why even have the bath? Weak water pressure but it does get hot. The toilet didn't seem clean. The soap that is provided was just water in a soap dispenser. Just useless.
There was also a rude roommate but couldn't complain about him because the reception is only staffed from 13:00 to 22:00... Why would you call somebody in a room where three other people are...
