I will start with the positive points: the location of this hotel is great. You have subway entrance right in front of the hotel door, and line 8 can take you to most of the major attractions within 1 transfer and under 30 mins. There is also a lovely local farmers market across the street which we enjoyed as well. The staff is friendly, room is clean, a bit old but stylish. Although it’s a bit small, I’m not going to complain cause you kind of get what you paid for.
Now to the part that makes me will never come back again, which is also the most important function of a hotel: REST. As I mentioned before there is subway right down. Which also means you can hear and feel train passing every now and then, especially at night. Understandably that the hotel doesn’t have control over this, but what they can do is to at least put some signs in the staircase or in the hall way to tell guest to keep it quiet! My room was located right by the staircase so every night when there are people coming back and walking on the stairs I can hear them very clearly, stepping on the old crunchy squeaky stairs. There are also people who probably drunk too much and start to sign/scream or talking very loudly to their group. I usually sleep around 11/12pm, and not surprisingly a lot of guest come back around 1-3AM. I’m not even a light sleeper but I got waked up by these noises many times per night and it’s hard to get back to sleep afterwards. So make sure to prepare yourself to have a lot of sleepless nights...
Read moreThis hotel would’ve been a 5 star if there were no train noise and rumbling every 15 minutes. This hotel is not “soundproof,” however, I do not blame the hotel for being affected by something that isn’t under their control. The biggest disappointment was an interaction with a staff member. The hotel has a kitchen downstairs and a lovely man who worked the prior night told us to feel free and ask for anything we needed. Yet, on September 11th, 2025 at 5:55pm there was an insanely rude man who made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. My partner and I ordered food that arrived cold and without utensils, so we went downstairs thinking it was not a huge deal if we asked to use the microwave and have three forks. When we approached this man… he attempted to turn away and pretended that we weren’t trying to get his attention. Once he chose to recognize us, we asked our questions and he SCOFFED. He glared at us and walked us to the microwave and only allowed HIMSELF to use it. Our food was obviously still cold because he didn’t even attempt to warm it up for more than a minute. Then, he watched over our shoulders the entire time we walked upstairs. And yea… our three forks ended up being two because he felt that petty. This worker needs a firm talking to because treating individuals…. Let alone GUESTS like that is unacceptable. We never ended up going back downstairs to get another fork because he made us feel that uncomfortable. The rest of the staff were lovely- very polite and...
Read moreA really beautiful hotel that has the amazing vintage Paris vibe we were looking for. It's old but nicely renovated, and clean. The staff is very friendly and would go out of their way to help customers. The rooms are tidied up daily. The bathrooms are modern, and comfortable and have everything you might need for your stay.
We really loved the breakfast - while there wasn't a large variety of things, it was quality over quantity - boiled organic eggs, tasty croissants and pain au chocolates, cereal, cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, organic milk, the tastiest yogurt we've ever had, fresh fruits, delicious coffee, great cappuccino that you could also get in a to-go cup for your morning walk down the beautiful street in front of the hotel.
The neighborhood is full of restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and plenty of nice and beautiful streets to walk. There's also a metro station right in front of the hotel from where you can explore Paris.
It wasn't a big issue for us, but the convenience of having a metro station less than 50m from the hotel comes at the cost of hearing/feeling every train that arrives. I can totally see someone who sleeps very lightly having some issue with that, but most people wouldn't mind it. Honestly, it sounded more like there is a mild storm outside which some would even find soothing...while others...
