UPDATED 4 days later from original posting below…..This place just gets better! 12 savory visits in 14 days firmly cements top spot in Paris. Barista Enyoman maintains consistent quality and a young lady from Australia always had friendly smile and words. Manager Caroline is AMAZING and gave us flowers on last visit in addition to personally preparing our coffee. My wife (ma belle in picture) and I enjoyed a wonderful 2 week visit to Paris and Ten Belles was a big part of it.
This rating is for 10 Belles in 10th. Best roasted coffee in Paris for flat white (latte) and cortado (piccolo). Strong flavors, rich crema, great quality milk. Fast service despite queues. People are friendly if you try speaking French. I typically drink 2-3 coffees daily at different merchants wherever traveling to gather perspective. The Mix Tape espresso blend is excellent for taking home to make your own coffee - just don’t expect to match the quality produced by the belle baristas. Have patronized this location 9 of last 10 days. Paris coffee has always been average in my experience due to being spoiled by Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco coffeehouses. 10 Belles is worth one or several visits. In fact a kind Parisian lady sitting next to me, Celine, had walked 60 mins from the 7th for a cup and exercise. Bonus - enjoy a stroll along canal while sipping...
Read moreTen Belles, only a few steps from Canal Saint-Martin around the 10th and 11th arrrondissement is perhaps one of the nicest coffee shops in Paris. It's possibly also one of the tiniest.
On my final day in Paris on my way to Gare du Nord in the 10th arrondissement, I decided to walk along Canal Saint-Martin and stop at Ten Belles. Now, I was a bit disappointed by the canal, I think the bit North of Ten Belles seems nicer than the bit South of it. However, the walk was definitely worth it, because Ten Belles is a very nice little coffee shop - and I even bumped into the barista of a other Paris coffee shop I talked to on my first day in the city.
A let down for the tourist, they do not have wifi - no problem for me, as I had gotten myself a SIM card immediately after I arrived in Paris. On the other hand, good for the tourist perhaps, the place seemed to be popular with expats or foreign students, so you can easily order your coffee in English - as almost everywhere in Paris.
Ten Belles serves great coffee and I also enjoyed their homemade iced tea on this pretty and sunny summer Monday.
If I would live in Paris, I'm sure Ten Belles would be one of the places I would visit regularly - staff are really friendly and it is just a beautiful...
Read moreChill coffee spot that has drip/filter coffee which is more akin to the average American coffee joint. Out the the 5 times I've been here, the drip coffee has always been on point. Cozy spot but does have an upstairs with more tables. They have sandwhiches and salads delivered from some local spot that are dope. All the employees I've meet speak English, as most of them are from England. The pro and con to this spot having no Wi-Fi is that tourists, if they do come here, don't stay long. Making it more of a local hang. My single complaint is that it's another spot that has chemex for sale but don't offer it as a brew method. I think whatever bosses put em there soley to tease coffee snobs like me with the faint idea of getting a delicous chemex brew. Also, anyone who complains about the price, Paris aint cheap anywhere else, so why would it be cheap here?
Highly recommended for the coffee enthusiast, lonely book reader guy, or meeting a friend to conspire moving...
