I am not sure how this hotel has got a decent rating on trip advisor or other sites because honestly this is one of the most uninspiring, totally forgettable , woeful hotel we have stayed in. It’s meant to be part of Marriot, which is truly shocking given the lacklustre behaviour of staff . The decor at the front desk and open area is good of the hotel is pleasant. However, that’s pretty much the only positives I have to say of this hotel, the rest of the aspects were dreadful.|Firstly, the rooms are designed poorly- you are unable to view out of your window as there is a thick concrete slab of a wall running right in the middle of where the windows are supposed to be , thus not only blocking the light but also a view. This makes the room extremely claustrophobic as you feel you are just in between four walls. Furthermore, the bathroom and toilet has no real private doors, there is a thin frosted glass that slides the toilet but you can see through the gap into the toilet from the outside . I assume the rooms were designed in a neo-style way appear cool and chic, however the rooms sadly fails by neither looking good nor serving a practical purpose . Secondly, when we were in the lobby, we saw a commotion where the main lift at hotel stopped working midway causing the woman stuck inside it to have a huge panic attack( understandably) which caused further uneasiness at our choice in hotel. However, the worst aspect of this hotel is the breakfast. The hotel charges €25 per person for breakfast. When you arrive at the breakfast area, you will be taken back at how small the display is. We are vegetarians and we had a choice of just a few unexciting cereals and breads only. There was a small selection of fresh vegetables- which had small pieces of ham and cheese pieces that had fallen into it( possibly from other guests using). We had told the staff to clean that as we are strict vegetarians so we can serve it on our plates, but this did not happen. The irony is you will find 6-7 staff in the small breakfast area constantly in your way “cleaning” ,“tidying”up around you- it really puts you off going to the area freely without them constantly in your way. Moreover, The breakfast was meant to finish at 10:30, the first day we arrived at 10 am, however by 10:10am the staff had already started clearing up the breakfast, starting with the cereals so we couldn’t not even go back to get second serving of the only food we could eat . I had voiced my concerns to the manger on the first day and was reassured things will be better on our second day of stay and as a good will gesture they can also prepare a few vegetarians options for us . However, this did not happen. There was zero acknowledgment by staff when we arrived on the second day. The least they could have done as part of a basic customer service was to make sure the salad& vegetables were clean without morcelles of meat/cheese pieces present like we kindly requested . Yet, no, this did not happen. By now we had grown extremely frustrated and just resigned ourselves to the fact we will get breakfast outside despite paying €50 already at the hotel. To add salt to our wound, whilst we were left hungry without proper food, we saw the helping themselves to the breakfast by picking on some bread, bacon pieces. A few started making themselves a sandwich prior to the breakfast period being offer. This, at the very least is truly unprofessional and unforgivable . We complained to the hotel regarding our experience, nothing was done about it. That speaks volumes on how much respect and regard they have for their customers. If AC or Marriot had truly cared, they would have made an effort to rectify or make amends with us . Never again. For anyone considering staying in this hotel, please do yourselves a favour and find another hotel . This hotel is also 15 minutes tram ride form city centre, it is honestly not worth the hassle for such a hotel that has least concern for guests and their...

Read moreWe are frequent business travelers in Strasbourg. We chose the new AC Hotel by Marriot for our stay. As a new hotel and a hotel line by Marriot, we feel both excited but barely satisfied.
👉 Start from the cons:
The room looked fantastic from the first view after we checked in. However, after living in it, you feel no privacy while brushing your teeth and so on, because it's an open space from the bed to the sink. It's more suitable for single or couples.
Secondly is air conditioner seems not to function. We tried to set the temperature down to 18°C, but the wind is warm. We have talked to the front desk, they would have a check after we told them. But seems to be nothing changed. Therefore we have to open the window while sleeping, and the Hotel is located by the street, so even at late night, it can be too noisy to sleep deeply.
Thirdly, the breakfast has many to be improved. The egg is really mashy and lacks variations. No other warm food except scrambled egg and pancake. Most of them are ready food. And for the sort of tea only 2 choices, Lipton black tea, and caffeine-free tea, that's all.
We have stayed at other hotels in Strasbourg, and with the same price, AC Hotel can be better than now.
The last is the parking, the reception said if we park the car in the parking lot, we can have some reduction from the Hotel. However, the past 3 nights, it didn't work out when we scan the ticket. The reception responded that they have no idea as well.
I think maybe the whole area is very new, all the things require some time to get improve.
👉 The Pros:
The Hotel employees are all very nice, and the whole atmosphere is exceptional, especially on the 9th floor. When the weather is nice, you can see the sun shine in through the high ceiling, it looks amazing.
The location is convenient as well, the tram station is only 2 min to walk distance.
And the Restaurant L' Archipel on the 9th floor is remarkable. The food and the service I will give 5 stars. 🤩
As a new Hotel, and especially since it's a brand from Marriot, customers will expect more than usual and it can be challenging for a new Hotel as well. 💪
But I know they are working hard on it, they respond to most of the comments from each customer, and more than that, I am surprised that they respond to my Instagram immediately when I post a story of the view from the Hotel.
We will come back next week to experience the Residence Inn. Hope the room has...
