Hotel Evian | le Littoral — Hotel in Thonon-les-Bains

First time in France!! Such a lovely and accommodating spot ! Came highly recommended from our local friends who throw the annual EVIAN TATTOO SHOW. We were so happy to be a part of the 10 year anniversary. And to stay In such a family friendly hotel. Walking distance from the event center. Walking distance from the lake of which you can take a ferry to Switzerland! The hotel staff was welcoming and very helpful! Continental breakfast like NO OTHER! complete with fresh cheese, eggs, breads, jams and the best market fruit... complimented well with amazing coffee and juice! My friend and I ordered a reflexology massage offered in our room! Best nap ever after that! All in all this spot is a definite 5 star! The amenities are perfect... Im a sucker for clean hotels! This one is unbelievable! Clean sheets . Blankets floors and towels! All the linens smell fresh!! And every floor and corner is free of dust! Huge deal to me!!! The hotel is clean and the staff are polite. The one star rating is because of the penalties that I was forced to pay for an early check out. As a result of private reasons I had to cut my stay short by a day and I have the hotel early notice of the situation directly at checkin. Regardless of that, I was forced to pay for three nights instead of two and then I was also required to vacate the room at the regular time despite having been required to pay for the third day.

The breakfast is also very minimalistic. A few types of cheese and a couple types of bread and a coffee.

Le Littoral's location is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It's close to all the activities and restaurants but you do suffer the noise from those restaurants till after midnight. Parking is very easy at the underground car park about 30 metres away. (15 euros for 24 hours ).Rooms are adequate in that they have everything you need but they are nowhere near the size they appear on the photos. Staff are very helpful and extremely friendly.
