Experience starting at check in was terrible. Person on night reception spoke very poor English. Couldn’t understand him. ||No hotel parking. Closest parking was 100 metres & no daily maximum. 1.5 Euro/hr. Cheaper parking was 300 metres at 20 Euro daily. No valet parking. ||No umbrellas available to borrow - only for purchase with cash. Couldn’t be charged to room. Cost was 7.50 Euro. It was a large golf size umbrella, which was nice, but unfortunately couldn’t take it home with us. Hotels should consider charging a deposit to use the umbrella or if purchase is required, the umbrella should be travel size. ||Room decor was historical. Large wardrobe in room rattled every time you walked in the room. Beds weren’t made. Duvet folded & put on top of bed. Felt like a dormitory. Beds uncomfortable. Minimal toiletries in bathroom. Water in faucet not drinkable (sign posted) & no bottled water provided. Wifi kept on cutting out. And you had to go through the entire sign-on procedure to login each time. Drapes didn’t close, making it difficult to sleep when daylight came. ||Breakfast selection & quality was adequate but nothing special. Gluten free bread is available upon request. Staff was pleasant. ||Hotel doesn’t have bellmen to help with luggage. ||Daria at reception for check out...
Read moreWe loved the people here. Very kind, very helpful, great sense of humor. At first glance, it's a really elegant hotel. Most glances after that one suggest the need for a face lift. Cracks in the wallpaper, stains on the carpet, paint that probably isn't its original colour .... this sort of thing. Closed spa area suggests staffing issues. Most of the common areas are pretty. I suppose that in a city as elegant as Baden-Baden, elegance has to be refreshed from time to time. A little refreshing would go a long way here.||There were no real obstacles to a descent night of sleep. Our A/C didn't cool much. We were ambiantly "not hot." Our other room felt hot for the full two days. I would have appreciated another pillow, but neither did I ask. I slept, but not actually deeply.||Breakfast has a nice porridge, other hot offerings, and the items you would expect for a German breaky.||Location is superb. In a great walking city, it is perfectly positioned. Easy walk to the baths and the casino.||Honestly, I can't see I will ever be back to Baden Baden. There is something about it that makes the city feel remote. For those with mobility challenges, options are really limited. I would certainly look here again, but I would also be looking for some...
Read moreStayed at this fabulous hotel in the centre of Baden-Baden for the weekend.
The staff are lovely and helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean and well decorated inc a minibar and safe. Bed and pillows are very comfortable, the shower and toilet looked recently refurbished with lots of hot water and quality body wash/products.
Breakfast is extremely good served between 7am - 10.30am in the 1st floor restaurant. Again the restaurant staff are wonderful.
My room was well heated with a good-sized radiator, but the windows also opened for fresh air, so not stuffy.
The hotel has an excellent spa on the 3rd floor with sauna and steam rooms.
This was my first time staying at HelioPark and I will definitely stay again.
If you are British and like a cup of tea, take your own kettle as there are no hot drink facilities in the rooms.
Overall, I could not find any faults... thank you for...
