WOW - What a place, but firstly, we stayed at this hotel for two nights at the start of our Scandinavian tour along with 8 other couples, it was arranged by a UK Tour company, and as we are all car nuts this was a perfect start to our trip, we arranged to have an extra night here as we wanted to visit the local "Classic Remise" situated not far from the hotel and another haunt for car nuts.||We had a car on the balcony at this hotel, yes that is right, you can take you car up to your room and park it on the balcony, you really can not get any safer than this, and it was a great idea, thoroughly enjoyed by all of our group.||The rooms are large, as they would need to be to be able to take the car on the balcony, they are quite spartan, with concrete walls, very few pictures, but the bed was in the middle of the room, which was comfortable, but for some reason only ONE pillow, I am not sure why all Euro hotels do this, but one pillow, especially those ones that are just a bag of air that compress to nothing is just not enough.||The bathroom is right behind the bed, with a decent sized shower and sink area, shelving either side had the coffee and tea making facilities one side and some magazines the other. A small fashion sofa and chair and coffee table finished the room. The only issue was lighting, there were lots of light, but they emitted very little light, I wear glasses and need light to be able to read properly, I could not do this without causing a headache. The TV was an ok size for a much smaller room, and was so far away from the bed, that it really was not worth the effort of straining my eyes to see.||The balcony was well lit, with a massively heavy door, which you needed a key card to get in and out of everytime you went out, this was a pain as occasionally when we just wanted to get something from the car, we just went, and on one occasion when I was in the shower, my better half had to wait outside, three stories up, until I got out, to let them in again. The balcony is well protected, and big enough to take some of the largest cars, the lift is smaller and needs to be carefully entered and exited to ensure no issues, it was quick to get to the room from the ground floor and back again.||Booking into the hotel was easy and hassle free, with friendly staff, who always had a smile and greeting, everywhere was clean and tidy with no litter anywhere, Our first night, before the rest of the group appeared the following day, we decided to eat in the restaurant at the top of the hotel, it was the most beautiful day, very warm, so we ate outside, the views were ok and you could see for a long way.||The meal that evening was a set meal like a BBQ set meal, the starters consisted of four BIG bowls of salads, which to be honest would have been enough for us to have without anything else, we ate as much as we dared as we saw another table get the next course, which was a huge platter full of sausages, ribs and steaks, we grazed our way through this, this was however way too much, WAY WAY too much food, and we never saw ANYONE finish any of their food, the waste must have been horrendous, one table did take a "doggie bag"||Desserts was more realistic, with fresh fruits, which was really nice, and all had lots of flavour, why we can not have flavoursome fruits in the UK like this I will never know. I would say that the amount of food was ridiculous, way too much for any couple to eat, and such a waste of good quality food, the cost was not cheap either, but we treated ourselves to this, as it was the start of our holiday !||Over all our two nights here were very very good and I would be more than happy to recommend this place to anyone, especially those that own cars that they would rather they keep in good condition and away from prying eyes and fingers.||Our second night and we were chilling in the room and we heard some music, through the very good double glazed windows, it got louder and louder, and after a few minutes my better half got up to have a look, the door and window were closed, so to hear that though, showed how loud it was, and all of a sudden I was beckoned to the balcony and we were greeted with inline skaters going past in the road, the roads were closed off by police, also on skates, and there were THOUSANDS of them it went on for what seemed like an eternity, all ages from the smallest of kids to the elderly all on skates, they had music being played at various stages throughout the convoy, medical assistance people, also on skates, and police and people keeping an eye on the convoy, it was great to just stand and watch them all go past, After about 45 minutes the last ones skated past, followed by police and paramedics, in vehicles, it was a great first two days of our trip, and we would be MORE than happy to come back here again,...
Read moreThe main thing overshadowing the stay was the horrible room concept, which has the shower and toilet separated from the main room with a seethrough plastic wall. I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT share a room in this hotel with someone unless you’re comfortable watching them shower and use the toilet.
I see management has somewhat idealistically described their design as “loft concept” in previous replies—in reality, it was more likely a cost saving measure paired with thoughtlessness. What loft affords you no privacy on the toilet? The way the bathroom puts one on display is positively obscene. It’s a decent room to spend a night in when travelling alone… I happened to share the room with my mother, which made it possibly the worst travel experience of my life.
The so-called room concept raises hygiene concerns as well. The sink is outside the toilet area, which means you move the door with unwashed hands every time. I wonder how well the door handles get scrubbed between visits?
This is not a concept that works. It just isn’t.
On a positive note, the rooftop bar and restaurant are lovely. Great view and atmosphere, open long hours, breakfast was good. Location close to U75 and in walking distance to main station. Nicely air conditioned rooms and the windows shut out all noise from the outside. Recommend for single...
Good with the potential to be great!
Also top - weiter so, Hotel-Team.
Ganz...
