Boutique Hotel Villa Oberkassel — Hotel in Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf people are lucky to have an important fair ground that attracts a lot of tourists, but the hotel business made by the local is not quite fair. The prices charged during the peak show times is leveled at a 5+ star hotel in premium cities! but the service offered is barely a 3 star. My room on the ground floor right beside the road didn't have any shutters or blinding curtains, so I experienced light from the lamp pole and cars noise all night long. The double bed is really tiny, and the bathroom too, even if it as all the necessary toiletries. There is a good free wifi service. Breakfast is ok, fresh.||They forgott about my wake up call but luckily I was awake in due time (thanks to the street noise and light). Why they didn't arrange living room and breakfast on the ground floor (instead of the first) and move the room upstairs...

The hotel is a small hotel. I stayed here because of a nearby business meeting I had. The hotel itself is small and so are the rooms. Also the bathroom was rather small. But it had all the basics. WiFi worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful. |When I arrived I could not get into the hotel as the door was closed/locked. I rang on the door but that did not help. After I gave the hotel a call the door was quickly opened. |As said before the room was small but all was clean. To do a bit of work the table in the room was a bit small. |Breakfast was nice and the staff would make eggs to order. |Disadvantage was the lacknof parking space right at the hotel. This hotel is located near the river that crosses Dusseldorf, on a residential area, and with easy access to public transportation. The room I stayed in was small, yet comfortable. It had its own bathroom and a desk with a lamp. It feels family owned and is cozy. The breakfast is included and usually offers a variety of bread, jam and cheese with several types of juice and coffee upon request. The staff speaks English and are gentle. The hotel asks for silence when entering or leaving the rooms because the house can be noisy at times. They have free internet access...
