One evening reception worker was arrogant and unfriendly and she didn't speak much English her English is difficult to understand. All other workers were more friendly before the evening. Worker said there is only one room on noisy church side free and if book one week then have to change room again to noisy side. I didn't know they want to have 4 or 7 time cleaning everyday they could save if book one room for the whole week stay but worker was very difficult. I had to choose another hotel because of the worker's behaviour this worker she was working alone in the evening. Other hotels usually want guests to stay in the same room week without changes or unnecessary cleanings but this worker wanted to get more cleaning and changing if book week. I wonder how she can decide these things alone. No possibility to get a quiet room because there was full hotel and room had church side there is bell rings and party on avenue in the days I stay. No information visible about the party before arrival. The room is ok but has carpet and was noisy because of the party and church next to windows. The lobby zone is very dark with dark lights and dark color furniture. For being better lobby could be bright. I didn't feel welcome here because of this one reception worker and her unwelcoming attitude. No possibility for early checkin. No water...
Read moreUpdate: bill was refunded after reaching out to the manager. Turns out they had issues coordinating different systems.
Did online check in with my debit card. App told me to get my mobile room card or get it at a pick up station, but didn't work so went to the reception desk. A very rude, racist dude condescendingly told me that they haven't received the money and I should nevertheless pay again because "you have to pay to stay at a hotel" and that it's a problem that I should solve with my bank if there's a double deduction. He said those words while doing this neck moving dance mockingly.
As if that's not enough, the next morning, someone opened the door around 0940 and after I loudly said "excuse me.." without finishing the sentence, that person rushed out. Should be the housekeeper but it would be horrible if it wasn't, it's a safety issue that the hotel should keep an eye on.
All in all, this is an okay place to spend the night, but be prepared for the confusing online check-in system and paying twice, being stepped over by that horrible Caucasian male at the reception desk and an unannounced entrance in your room in...
Read moreBecame a club member to enjoy the perks (quick booking, one free breakfast, welcome water) and can usually find a location in many cities across Germany. The rooms are a solid value. Not huge, but plenty spacious. Modern technology (key card brings the room to life, a TV image with relaxing imagery looping), clean rooms and 24 hour food availability. Full bar, great coffees all day. The breakfast is second to none. I come back every year for the breakfast alone! In the lobby the staff makes special drinks and they excel at hot chocolate (made with the espresso machine using real whole milk and world's best chocolate) and ginger tea made from fresh cut ginger root and honey. Also don't forget to sample a gin drink from their world class gin collection. It's super smooth. This time I got a corner room and it was spacious! Great room air-conditioning in this humid German weather. In-room safes are super convenient. Good...
