I was pretty disappointed as a loyal Accor member having been in many Novotel hotels. It is basically located close to the Munster station, the area is not that nice (anymore). Had breakfast and sitting underground looking out of the window and seeing vomit looking up out of the window from people who had too much the night before. That was a nice surprise in the morning. In addition to that the music was damaging loud to my ears at the morning breakfast area that you could wonder if they want to have a Xmas party or just wanted everyone to be fully awake at breakfast by 6.30am. I could accept all of that but the most disappointing thing was the service. Incompetent - even forgot to hand me the card key at check in - at the check out didn’t even asked how my stay was and if she could support as apparently the invoicing issue did not work. Hotel reception was incompetent , not at their place , not present and to be honest not really friendly. It left a really bad impression and made me wonder if we (as a company) who regularly book rooms there will go there again. By the way - be aware that in most of the rooms the air condition and ventilators are extremely loud especially during night. Makes sleep pretty uncomfortable even they are cooperating with the meditation app CALM and want to promote a better sleeping experience. Rest assure - no...
Read moreWe stayed at the Novotel hotel for 2 nights. I think the Novotel hotel was just renovated, so their rooms are new. The rooms are big with comfortable beds. There is even a kettle in the room so you can boil hot water, but there is no coffee machine.
The room was a bit warm at night time, and we wanted to turn on the AC, but it didn't work properly. It only had a "fan" option, and we couldn't adjust the temperature. We asked the staff to have a look, but she also couldn't do anything or didn't know how to fix it. We had to open the window at night time.
When we checked in, the receptionist didn't speak English very well, so he didn't explain to us if our rooms included breakfast or where the breakfast location was, etc.
The breakfast was normal and not worth €22 per person. On the first day when we had breakfast, the staff checked our room number, but the room we stayed in was not under our name. My husband checked the lists he had, and those lists were from previous days (funny). We then told him that he checked the wrong date, but he still didn't understand our meaning. I guess he is just a new staff member.
Overall, it is a quite nice hotel within walking distance to the old town center. A good location with the train station just...
Read moreCheck-in process was easy and both receptionists were very helpful. Hotel location is very convenient to access city center and surrounding areas are complete with supermarket, food stall, parking building, and train station. We had a great two nights there except morning on the day we were checking-out. As default, maximum check-out is 12pm. We planned to check-out around that time because we were waiting our daughter visiting Pablo Picasso museum. However, around 9am and then 10am, two times in the morning, the same house keeping knocked our room, didn't say anything and just keep pointing her wrist (as a gesture telling us when we will leave). We tried to communicate but then she just left. Really annoying and unprofessional. We felt we were forced to leave, especially my wife, she felt annoyed and called my daughter to end her museum visit. We called the receptionist and complained about it. The receptionist said sorry. During check-out, the receptionist asked us how was our stay, I replied the truth that we had good stay except this morning and asked her to tell her manager about what we experienced. Really disappointed. Accor must retrain their staff to avoid this...
