Nice — Restaurant in Munich

Finally made it here. The review:

NICE Staff was very friendly Beautiful restaurant, nicely crafted tables, counters etc. Reasonably priced open wines, generously poured Great Tartar Tokyo calling drink was very good Augustiner Helles Presentation Vibe Update: They reacted friendly and professional to this review, which is not a given. I will likely come back!

NOT SO NICE Starters came before drinks & bread did. Not a biggy, but given the price range and given that staff is comprised of some familiar faces from other upscale places, rather a no-go. While food came relatively quickly, we (and other quests) had to sit in front of empty plates for quite a while after having finished the course (restaurant maybe had an occupancy of 30%) Bread: yes, Julius Brantner is good. However, to avoid the word „boring“: something else would be refreshing for once. Also 6€ for 3,5 slices and some butter is a bit much. Did not bring spoons for the relatively bland but saucy pumpkin starter, which could have benefited from a bit more temperature. Not our fav. Chicken ballotine is usually made from thigh/leg to prevent it from becoming dry. This one was dry, unfortunately. Also, the pistacchio did not really come through in the farce. More sauce would have been nice. The cuisson on the venison sadly was a bit beyond medium and the meat was dry as well. Sauce was good. Blood sausage praline was great but cold. Radicchio was somehow heavy on alcohol and very bitter (seemed red wine poached). Puree was great. Pandan drink had no hints of Pandan at all. Very disappointing.

I’ve been to nice twice now, and both times were absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere is modern yet incredibly welcoming. You feel comfortable the moment you walk in. The food is spot-on: creative dishes, perfectly balanced flavors, and beautifully presented. The service is exceptional as well.
