Khanittha Im Werksviertel — Restaurant in Munich

It is an incredible place. It is designed so you feel a bit of the ambiance of Thailand's street. You have street food stands and a small "market"-like display. The kitchen is open so you can see how they prepare Every. Single. Thing.

The service is warm. They speak English if you don't speak German. They accommodate just about anything and make you feel valued. The service in impressive, it is fast and spot on.

Now, the food. First of all I am sorry I don't know the proper names, but I leave pictures. We started with fried dumplings, deliciousness at its peak: check ✔️. Then we ordered a dark soup and chicken with rice and vegetables in an incredibly well seasoned (OF COURSE! IT IS THAI FOOD!) sauce. Then we had dessert, the coconut ice-cream, your body has never met such smoothness, trust me, it hasn't, give it a try! Then we had the coconut "pancakes" , oh these last ones were the hit! So soft, so coconutty, so meaty if you will, and never overly sweet. As said before, spot on.

I would go back in a heart beat. Enjoy your food. It might as well be one of the best you have when...

The food is not bad and the deco is unique. I came here twice, once in summer and once in winter. The ventilation is equally bad. So sitting inside means washing everything from your hair to socks right after. In cold winter I ordered a bubble tea. From the pic and description I don’t see ice or options of cold/warm. Then it is served with nearly half cup of ice. It’s partially on me because I should have asked. But is it too much to expect the waitress to just mention it in snowing cold winter that it is icy? The worst thing, a waiter came to collect dishes and accidentally spilled sauce on my friend and another customer at the next table. He just left, without saying a word. So we decided not to tip. When we paid the waitress was furious. She was complaining to her colleagues loudly in Thai and staring at us as we were leaving. I will never set foot...

We don’t know how the food or drink is, because a server never came back after seating us. We waited for 20 minutes for a server to take our drink order, but no one ever came. We went inside to try to make an order, but they told us to just wait at our table. After another five minutes, we left. We were not the only couple that had this issue, as two others also tried to go inside to order. This was a Saturday afternoon when the outside was only 50% full and 3 + servers. Like many Munich restaurants we’ve visited, the servers do not know how to efficiently wait tables and only think in single tasks. Meaning that the server goes to the bar every time between going to a table instead of going to multiple tables then going to the bar. The server runs too much and neglects the tables! Like what happened to us and the other at...
