Not to be missed. A lovely day in more ways than one. We learned of this hotel restaurant through a travel guide. The hotel, located majestically along the Rhine, was unfortunately sold-out for one of three nights sought. Instead of three days in Bacharach, a day trip to Bacharach was taken from Frankfurt, combined with the opportunity to dine at this highly regarded local restaurant. Our back-up plan worked perfectly! We were able to see the majestic Rhine my wife has long dreamt of visiting. We walked hand in hand along this gentle flowing river framed by hills, vast greenery, and other natural formations, while we took in our first glances of this particular location along the Rhine valley. It is the ideal junction where beauty meets serenity, as if there could be no better location in all the world. Others were also seen walking hand in hand. An elderly couple, apparently from Bacharach, asked in German, whether we could take their photo. Of course! By now, we were famished. The kitchen had unfortunately closed, but the waitress kindly mentioned that we could order from the appetizers menu. We both ordered miso soup made using shiitake mushroom, glasses of white wine, and with a bread basket to share. Delicious, five-star soup! The service was impeccable! Afterwards, we shared an ice cream sundae. Delicious! I wish I could say Yum in German! Our day in Bacharach had been spectacular. The restaurant choice had been the perfect topping. Will we return? Most definitely! Oh, and before leaving town, we climbed the hill, located behind the hotel restaurant, to obtain the most majestic views of the town of Bachrach and the Rhine River valley. Do not miss this restaurant nor its...
Read moreWe didn’t stay at the Hotel but we dined there for dinner 3 times during our 6 days in Bacharach ! Beautiful setting, very good service and excellent food! It is by far the best place in Bacharach to dine! We had reservations for two the meals and were fortunate enough to be seated the third time. Very good local wine selection and a wonderful menu to choose from. I could have gone one more time! The chef comes out to the tables to say hello and ask about your meal and if you enjoyed it! We thought that was a really nice gesture! We kept seeing the owner in Bacharach! We told him we had dined at his restaurant the night prior and he smiled and appreciated it! What was really great is he recognized us from that conversation and waved when we saw him in the village! We then saw him when dining the following evening! What it shows is he is present and paying attention to his guests! That is impressive! The wild boar sauerbrauten with potato pretzel dumplings was outstanding! We also had the fish curry and the Portuguese fish stew! Really outstanding and so fresh and beautifully presented! The one evening we had the crème brûlée with a raspberry sorbet! Don’t miss out on this gem of...
Read moreA wonderful hotel in the charming town of Bacharach! This hotel has prime location right at the city wall next to an entrance into the town and is close to everything. We stayed in a "Junior Suite" room that faced the town and it was very comfortable for a family of 3. There was A/C, but we didn't use it much because of fresh air from the windows. The room was very private and we were given a key to the front door, so it was like having our very own house. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options, with a table reserved for each room. The parking lot is small, but usually we were able to find a spot. There is a very affordable public parking lot just outside the city walls that can be used in case the hotel lot is full. Note that the hotel is right next to the train tracks, so every now and then there was the rumble of a train, but this never really bothered us. Overall, highly...
