Stopped by to have a quick lunch as this place had the largest selection/variety of food out of the open restaurants during our visit in Bacharach. We sat outside, right by the main street, and unfortunately it was a bit noisy and annoying as cars were passing by literally meters from us. Nevertheless we enjoyed our time and while we were waiting for our food we were sipping nicely chilled and refreshing wine from a local manufacturer. I ordered schnitzel with onion sauce from a menu that reminded me of old school restaurant menus from early '00 which made me smile and think about travelling in my early twenties. The taste of my food was very good, resembling my grandma's cooking. Flammkuchen was also very light and tasty. Overall, we were satisfied with both the service and the price of the meal. Service was quick and friendly. Paid with card. Visited in May 2022.

Monday evening in May and there's hardly any restaurants open! This was one of the few places with normal operating hours (crazy!). The food was solid, especially compared to what else is available in this small town, but nothing special. The flammkuchen was pretty good. The pasta was only ok. They are very light with the pasta sauce so I had to ask for extra. I also asked for a side of Parmesan cheese since it's not included. That helped. The caprese salad wasn't bad, but could've use more basil and pesto sauce. Not a bad place to eat though if you're in town.

We decided to stop here for lunch while wandering Bacharach. There was an English menu available and a decent amount of options. It took a little while for the food but there was only one waiter and it didn't seem like there were many people in the kitchen. I was pleased with the service and the food. I think there were enough options to appeal to a variety of tastes. The establishment appeared clean. I really enjoyed my dish, listed under the appetizers, which was the cambert cheese with part of a pear and cranberries, served with toast and a mini salad.

We stayed at four hotels on our vacation to Germany, three were wonderful, and then there was this one. The first problem was communication. The lady spoke German rapidly not caring that we couldn't understand a word that she said. And she made no attempt to understand my concerns. Communicating in a foreign language can be fun; with her it was painful.||||The property is drab and in poor repair. We were given a room with a double bed pushed up against the wall; we reserved a triple room two beds. The lighting was poor with bulbs out and exposed makeshift wiring. A big piece of bathroom corner trim came off in my wife's hand. There was very little ventilation, no air conditioning, and our room was hot. There is no easy way in or out of the hotel; you either have to go through the restaurant if it is open, or down through an industrial door into a dark alcove that leads to the street.||||Parking is included but I was surprised to find out that it was an unsecured lot out of town, about a half mile from the hotel.||||The hotel was obviously a poor value but I felt that the lady was downright dishonest. We were charged a higher rate than the triple we reserved despite being given a less expensive room. The breakfast was an extra $25 a night, which we didn't know until we checked out. I think she was telling me that Agoda gets 16%; apparently she thinks they should list her hotel for free. I tried to go over the charges with her but again there was no communication and we were definitely not...
