Nova Hotel — Hotel in Accra

I was travelling with a colleague and I chose this Hotel because a friend who work for the German Technical Cooperation helped me to get the reduced rate. My first impression was not very positive, the reception of the Hotel is at the second floor of a tall building and while you are climbing you wonder where you will end up. Moreover, the room was spacious but everything looked a bit old and the shower did not work so well. Yet, as the days passed I felt more and more at ease. Surely, the Hotel is not luxurious but John, the manager, was extremely helpful and did his best to make us feel at home. I really appreciated the location, as everything you may need is at walking distance (restaurants, bars, supermarket, etc.). The rooms are equipped with a fridge and have wireless internet (which at the beginning had some problems but got fixed). I spent about 10 days at this hotel in total but with two days break in-between.||It was a last resort hotel for me as my initial reservation at another hotel fell through at the last minute but in the end i was glad that i stayed there. The staff was really friendly, helpful and with integrity. After booking, i had found a cheaper price online and when i mentioned this to them on arrival, i was given the cheaper rate even though though apparently, it had been a mistake from the online platform. It;s a walking distance to all the restaurants and shops in Osu (if you can stand the heat) and has a great view from the balcony. It is situated just behind Frankies (about 3 minutes walk). The breakfast is basic toast, omelette and tea/coffee but the location, friendliness and integrity of the staff more than make up for this. I will go...

I've been coming to this place for years on my semi-annual visits for my work. Bottom line is that it is hard to find a hotel at this price with the location, cleanliness and amenities of the Nova Hotel in Accra. There is no restaurant but it's within a couple minutes walk to the best restaurants and shops in Accra. The rooms themselves are nicely decorated with working AC, hot water, TV, fridge and comfortable beds. They have internet that doesn't always work (probably 60% of the time), but when it does it's very high speed. The staff are super nice, don't be shy to ask them for anything.
